If he can get any stops out of the 4-3 scheme and get the defense from 31st to 15th or 14th, the Chiefs will be heavy favorites to win it all next year.

I'm hoping Spanguolo can bring our defense up at least to the middle of the pack. If he can do that and our offense can remain potent, we should be able to capture the AFC next year.

This is a good hire for KC. Spag has familiarity with Andy Reid, and it was his defensive scheme that was such a big factor in Superbowl 42.

A change had to be made. Because I referenced this after the AFC title game, I said weeks ago that if anything will doom the Chiefs, it's their defense. Watching that final drive last week must have been hell for Chiefs fans everywhere. Especially the 3rd down conversions, which were all 3rd & 10s.

This is how I watched it,

1st third down conversion: "Okay, they can still force a punt"
2nd third down conversion: "They can still hold them to a field goal"
3rd third down conversion: "Game over"

My thoughts were a little more toward the obscene side:


1st conversion- Crap, well we can still hold them.

2nd conversion- Damn! someone please make a play!


3rd conversion-#$%!!# Patriots are in the damn Super Bowl, AGAIN!!
