Chilean mine rescue.

....they could have done better that 2 month!!!!...If I were a wife of one of thpse miners I would have killed couple officials by now for not working fast enough to get him out....really glad it turned out fine for them!!!

Wonderful -- Miners & Truth both come to light....

Amen to all that ^ :yayzorz::yayzorz::yayzorz:

Amazing they've arguing about who's to be last --- :wow:

"You go!" --- "No, YOU go!" --- "No, no, I insist, YOU go!" 😛

That's really noble considering how desperate they must be to get out....

I think one of the miners may wish he did not get rescued.the one who has a wife and a girlfriend.

Serioulsy,I am glad they are being rescued.

(Ok, except maybe for that one jerk who REALLY SHOULD want to be the last one out.... )

He'll have to dodge more than shoes when he gets his cheating butt up outta there :imouttahe 😛

It's amazing that those miners have survived and are getting rescued but it's horrible that they were stuck there that long. Guess it comes with the territory of being a miner?

Chile's finest hour. It's their Moon Landing (USA). Their capture of Adolf Eichmann (Israel). 1 billion watched this incredible endeavor of mankind. What made this great rescue operation possible were the best minds working together, not against each other. The capsule was engineering at its best.

These miners are very tough men that were underground for two fucking months without sunlight or fresh air. I bet they can handle anything now, sans PTSD. Did you see the second miner in good spirits who came out with souvenirs? He'll go back to mining because he loves it.

The best people are made as a result of adversity, not sheltered.

Thank the fates for their survival in this crazy event! I'll bet it will be great to finally feel the sun again.

Keep in mind these men were some 2,000 feet beneath the surface. They were not going to be dug out with picks and shovels. The engineering challenges were daunting. So far as I know, nothing like this has ever been done before, or even attempted. You don't rush blindly into something like this.

Not to mention that they were actually freed much faster than expected. Two months is actually pretty good. Just watched #26 embrace his little girl.

Yes, I think original estimates were as long as four months. What really matters is, they are alive and for the most part, well. Mental and physical issues can and will be dealt with. It really is an incredible story, a triumph of technology, and a tribute to the human spirit.

Update: Number 27 is on the surface. Six more coming up soon.

That is very true. The fact that they were and are being recovered safely is the best thing of all. Watching the reunions has been so touching, plus all the things the men have been offered, from wine to signed jerseys and balls from Real Madrid to fully paid trips to see Manchester United play.

I think my favorite, though, is the Texan woman who is making a wedding dress for a miner's wife after her husband asked her to remarry him in a traditional church wedding.
