So I was sitting in the chiropractor yesterday waiting to get some work done and I was hanging out in this little makeshift "waiting room" (a bunch of chairs lined up) waiting for my turn. It took probably 30 minutes before I could see the doc and during this time I sat and watched other people in an open room, physical therapy style setup get worked on.
People walked up, laid down on the table, chatted, laughed, got worked on, got up and left. It was pretty quick... like an express lane chiro service. Anyway, as I'm sitting waiting for my turn, I noticed some very pretty soles next to me.. in flip flops, a young girl in her early 20's.. with LONG toes. I was feeling sassy and sneaky so I grabbed a quick picture. (photo posted below!)
As I'm doing this I realize that the last few people who've gone up and laid down have removed their shoes and socks. It seemed to be some sort of understood thing... socks and shoes come off. Interesting! I liked it already. So I watched more, and it was OK to watch since they were out in the open! Fun 😉
I sat and watched the guy next to me go up, take his flip flops off, and lay down. His wife who was there with him said, "hey, you're goin' barefoot too.. join the club! You don't normally take your shoes off.." And RIGHT as she finished saying that (the guy is laying down face first with his bare soles hanging off the back of the low table) the doc said, "Hey, I've been doing this for 20 years and it doesn't matter, men and women, old and young get this same treatment.....I do this..." ........ and I sat and stared while the doc reached both hands down and quickly spider tickled two or three big circles in each of this man's arches. Both feet JUMPED and he let out a very short high pitched, "Whooo!!" and laughed a little. His wife spoke up from her chair close to me, laughed, and then said, "hah! That's how I wake him up some mornings when he won't budge... tickling his feet!"
I was stunned. I've never seen a doc so candidly admit that he tickles everyone's feet while at the same time having a fun interaction from the patients that didn't seem annoyed at ALL by it. I watched the rest of the treatment and there was no more tickling. ........ and THEN the girl next to me (feet in the pic below) was up. It was HER turn. I desperately wanted to see this. I wanted to see if he was going to tickle those soft soles and long toes!
She slid her flip flops off, laid face down on her stomach, and draped her feet off the end of the bench. Those magnificent soles were in FULL view now. And SURE ENOUGH.. the doc walked behind her, said, "good to see ya again!" and reached down and scribbled with sets of fingernails on each arch.... the girl's feet twitched hard two or three times very quickly, but she didn't MOVE her feet away... she simply smiled with her eyes closed, head cocked to the side and resting and let out the smallest sigh. She loved it! OMG... too good to be true.
I should go back to this place. I should watch for more tickles. Maybe this is a new hobby. Maybe I'll even get tickled! (I was seeing a different therapist that wasn't tickling people, so maybe I should switch 😉 I love these normal situations where the docs tickle people. Anybody else experience this at all?
