clip download problems

My old computer could download and show clips and videos but had to be replaced due to accident. When I attempt clip downloads now all I get is a page of printed gibberish. Does anyone know what program is required to watch clips such the kind we have in this community? its not Adobe flash

Try downloading Windows Media player, should play most movie file extensions.

You could get it from download.com. I believe this should help.

The free VLC Player can also play nearly any kind of audiovisual file. It is worth a try; I use it myself, and find it functions without issue. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
