Coloured anime pic

Hi there all. I've found an old pic in my collection that I quite liked. Now I know its kinda not nice to edit other people artwork, so obviously I'm more than happy to remove this if anyone wants me to. Sadly I dont know the original artist either. I just really liked how the colouring turned out, not bad for one of my first efforts. Posted with the original too 🙂 . Hope you like!

That is quite good! ^_^ I like it, especially since I liked the original picture as well. It came out pretty nicely. The original was done by Satori-san (not that he posts anywhere on any kind of forum, he's Japanese) and it was of Skuld from Ah! My Goddess! Just so you know. ^ ^

*grins* Why thank you 🙂 . Is it generally acceptable for me to post pictures I've coloured on here? I've been learning to draw and colour so I'd like to post my stuff instead of it just being sat on my hard drive...

I'd say it depends. In this case, we're probably never going to be able to get Satori's approval, so it's probably all right. If at all possible, you should get the permission of the original artist before recoloring their work. But then again, I don't make the rules here, so I may be wrong. But it never hurts to get permission if you can.

I have to agree on a few of the previous comments
1. Like Jaynin's says, for a first time color work it's pretty good, but as Jaynin stated you may ask the artist first to use their work.
I usually hate when somebody has a Yahoo group or posts somewhere saying they have a picture but never credit the hard-working artists.
(By the way, Jaynin, you rock, and your catgirl is cuter than cute!)
And, please don't read it as a direct attack to you (because it isn't) I mean, at least you coloured it, most "club owners" aren't creators themselves so it's easier to get images when you're not drawing them.
And I don't want to start a "Napster-like" debate about the free images here online because, the least we can do to the artists that provide us with their work is to thank them.
My advice is, at least, try to credit the creator.
2. Now, specifically on your work, it isn't easy to colour and you did it on a nice clean way, I hope you can show us some more soon
