Yesterday I was trying to multi-task and accidently spilled white out on my computer :Grrr: an I tried to wipe it off with a wet (red) washcloth...now I have a red smear on my computer and I need some advice on how to get the white out off of my comp

Computer?

Umm..keyboard...or monitor...or tower/HD? Whatever, here's a bit of help, but sometimes the cure is as bad as the problem. If it's the keyboard I'd ante up another $5-$10 and get a new one or live with the red (pretend you wanted it that way...lol..although green would be better in your case)

Twink (Whiteout) (Liquid Paper) (Liquid Correction Fluid)
Purchase some Spray & Wipe from your supermarket, and use concentrated on the stain. Most Spray & Wipe formula’s contain a solvent which will dissolve the liquid paper. OR Try a little gasoline on the stain, with some good absorbent paper or old cloth behind it. Then use some dishwash liquid or a good quality laundry liquid to wash out the gasoline. OR Purchase some xylene, or toluene, these are some of the solvents used in making the stuff. Use as if using the gasoline. These are stocked by gasoline companies and you may be able to request a small sample. Always test an inconspicuous piece of material before proceeding, or if you're working on a material like your tower case, try a small spot and let it dry to see the result..... Q

Pour green paint all over it and it will be as good as new!

But, the serious answer really depends on where you spilled it. If you did spill it on the keys, it may be time for new ones, since the paint may cause some of them to lock up and cease to function.

I have a laptop. I spilled it right under the mouse keys that are on the keyboard, so the white out isn't actually on the keyboard

Oh my. Hmmm..... Your only real option then is too maybe paint over it VERY thinly, or just wait it out. DO NOT chance cleaning it unless you can remove the cover and clean it carefully. Laptops are a ROYAL pain to clean if something like that happens without breaking it in the process.

The best solvent I've found is good old WD-40, readily available in most modern residential garages.

To try to clean a keyboard, I would spray a little WD-40 on a Q-tip and proceed carefully.

Thanks for the suggestions, the 1st one I tried was the WD40 on a Q-Tip and it worked like a charm
