computer user locks

Any ideas how I can get my admin user on a windows vista premium home version 32 bit computer from locking after about 90 of idleness? I began about 5 weeks ago and is quite annoying. It only happens on the admin user.

How do you mean "locking?" Do you mean that the computer displays a screen asking you to enter your password? That's probably a power management setting. If you have some sort of screensaver/monitor power save set, then when you resume working it will display a password prompt unless you tell it not to. Does this sound like your issue? If so, I can look to see how we can fix it.

It displays a message......locking your computer on the blue background and then returns me to my user icon.....hitting the spacebar unlocks it, and returns me where I previously was.

This does sound like a screensaver-related issue. Let's see if it is the simple thing I think it is.

1. Open the Control Panel in the Start Menu.
2. If you see about ten icons with a few links under each, choose "Appearance and Personalization" (click on it) and then click "Change screen saver" under "Personalization".
3. If you see a large number of icons (several dozen), find "Personalization" and click it. Then click "Screen Saver".
4. In the "Screen Saver Settings" window that appears, do you see the box next to "On resume, display login screen" checked? If so, uncheck it and click okay.

If that box is unchecked, let me know, and we'll keep digging.
