Concerning Stem Cell Research...

Does anyone know if there has been any headway made in terms of Stem Cell Research enabling the regrowing of an optic nerve or treating an auto-immune disorder? What about possibly treating pancreatic cancer? I heard that New York state opened up a STATE-FUNDED (not Federal Funded) clinic. Is this true? If so, where it is and is there a way to contact them?

Thanks. Gonna contact them soon. A certain friend of mine is having a HELL OF A TIME with her behcet's disease. It doesn't help matters that it's completely eaten up one of her optic nerves.
