It wasn't the most exciting finish (or race) in NASCAR history, but was thrilling to this race fan to see "Little E" win his first Daytona 500 championship 🙂

Great start to a new season of racing. I was equally thrilled at our hometown boy and family friend Scott Wimmer coming in 3rd place in the Daytona 500.....his first full year in Winston Cup. May this merely be a sign of things to come!

Still can't seem to pass without help in these plate races.I'm not a #8 fan but I think he is going to be a big threat this year for the cup.Thought NBC did a nice job covering the event ,but a little worried seeing my hero Bill Elliot buddying up with George W.It looked like he was auditioning for the chauffer's job.Kudos to Wimmer what a great start for that rookie.Lets hope for a safe season!Glad to see Waltrip allright after his wild ride!On to THE ROCK.Who can forget last year's great battle between Craven and Busch

I was just dissapointed not to see "Awesome Bill" in the field....as a fan and fellow Georgian, it was a kinda sad feeling to see someone else driving #9 at Daytona 🙁

I agreewith you!I have followed Bill since he had the bushy hair and drove the early 80s squarebird.I stood by him when he won and when he endured that long losing streak after 94.Glad to see he has the class to bow out gracefully while helping the new talent that the Evernham has hired to fill the 9 car.I'm a Ford fan but with all the graybeards driving for them i'm not sure who will become my new favorite.Was hoping for Sadler to do something in the 500 but he fizzled out right from the start!Heres hpoping that old Bill will win at least a few more b4 he hangs it up for good!

I'm not an Earnhardt fan either but I was glad to see him win it on the anniversary of his Dad's Daytona Win! Daddy Dale was watching over Jr.
