Dell is a good choice to sustain your budget, however, I have heard some reports that they don't do games very well. Including one from my Dad's girlfriend's son. But, it will likely work, depending on how high-end you go.

If you go with Dell, try and get a non-Dell motherboard, like an ASUS fitted. Dell's own parts are crap.

^What he said. A definite caution is to make sure that any essential parts, such as the motherboard, are non-Dell.
