Do you people here think that Tickling can be almost like a Porn Addicition in some ways for people that suffer from Porn? meaning you think about Tickling all the time like 24/7 or close to it and your always surronded by it and you need it to Get by. or do you Just think that Ticling can in no way shape or form lead into any kind of Addiciton since its just harm-less clean fun thats supposed to make people laugh and enjoy Life. i just thought up this recently and was just wondering what you guys had to say on it.

take care
bye

I'ts fun, it's great, but once in a while i need to take a break from it. Like anything else, moderation is good.

That's kind of like asking if shooting heroin might, in some small way, contribute to a drug addiction. ROFL!

Oh yeah. Non-recovering addict here. When things work it is a lot of fun. But the rest of the time, suckee city. And I'm the mayor!

a serious answer? it can and it will.

Hi all. I'm new here. I thought I'd weigh in on this one first, since I have firsthand experience with it.

Yeah, It can be an addiction. It is for me, and sometimes, it acts like a drug addiction. As much as I love it, and don't ever want to change it, it has caused a couple problems in the past. It's kinda like coccaine in a way...they both elevate seratonin levels. You're taking something way fun, and mixing it with a sexual kick. I refuse to go into detox, tho...lol. It's just something I gotta channel and use it as motivation, rather than falling to its immediate gratification impulse.

Ok, that may have sounded a bit dark. Truth is tho...I won't give it up, and I have no desire to....it's too much of a blast. And as Laugher points out on his site, it's a great treatment for meloncholy. Even for the 'lers in my experience. I love torturing a helpless tickle slave....I feel all happy after that😀

Take care, glad to be here...

I've never found tickling to be addictive...have never had a problem maintaining control and remaining a gentleman. While I always enjoy tickling a pretty lady, it's always someone I know and is consentual. I don't walk up to women in public and ask if they are ticklish, want to be tickled, or anything else related to tickling.

I'll admit when I'm around attractive women (at work, in the mall, etc), sometimes I've caught myself daydreaming about tickling them...or more often wondering where and how ticklish they are. I guess that's just human nature, but have never let that cause me to break the law or harrass someone because of it.

You REALLY haven't been around here that long, have you? This is often how uncomfortable subjects are dealt with. Not just here, but society AT LARGE. You aren't new to that, are you? Even with the 'joking' replies, you didn't find some truth within them?

A simple yes.

Now you can meet the dealine for your research paper.

A simple yes or no? Here? ROFL. Okay, you want a serious answer? I can't guarantee that I won't stray into witticisms, but here is my hypothesis on the establishment of a bona fide tickling addiction based on hard science. I'll keep it relatively short.

Q. Can tickling become a behavioral addiction, like pornography?
A. The answer is probably, yes, and here's why:

Behavioral addictions of all types have one common denominator: Altered Emotional State. The greater the "rush" or "high" received when participating in the activity, the greater the desire to repeat it. Some may argue that activities such as tickling or fetishism in general are purely augmented psycho-sexual obsessions and have no basis for the creation of altered emotional states, but, there is an abundance of research that would indicate a chemical relationship between activities such as tickling and the euphoric state associated with it. The euphoria can so parallel that of a narcotic, that it is possible for people to become hooked. Thus, tickling addiction could be arguably categorized as a physical dependant.

The chemical I refer to is a neurohormone called Beta-Endorphin (the contracted term for endogenous morphine). Secreted from the pituitary gland in the brain, this chemical bonds to the same neuro-receptors as the opiate, morphine, creating almost identical feelings of euphoria. During sex, this hormone can increase to over 200 times its normal volume within the entire sexual encounter.

Endorphins are produced as a result of physical exertion, sexual excitation, hearty laughter, and even light touch. Now, bear in mind that the same endorphin rush experienced by the ticklee, can be experienced by the tickler as well, since sex is not a mandatory component in the creation of Endorphin. In fact, touch isn't even necessary. The mere viewing of sexually arousing material for some people can trigger the production of endorphin to the degree that the viewer becomes almost giddy with excitement. The repetitive viewing of such material, or participation in such activities can, over time, induce an addictive response

When we use the word "Addiction" however, it does denote an obsessive dependency that becomes necessary for the afflicted person to repeat, even at the expense of other daily activities. Therefore, to have an addiction to tickling would mean that the behavior interferes with ones ability to perform other activities, and in most cases will take precedence in importance over and above other activities. This is usually the point at which the term addiction takes on a clinical meaning and may require the assistance of a mental health professional to address. If this is you, then you definitely have an addiction. If not, then you are most likely, just harmlessly weird. (there's that witticism I mentioned earlier. Here's another)

You may read my thesis in its entirety at the Library of Congress website, entitled:
The Dangers of Sharing Feathers Among Americas Tickle Junkies

I think about tickling every day but it doesn't control my life. If thoughts of tickling become so overwhelming you can't operate doing daily things it is a problem.

I do find myself thinking about tickling all the time, mainly because I view being tickled as not only a sexual stimulant, but a stress reliver. Being a college student and having a full tiem job is definitely enough to stress me out. So when I get mad or upset about something, I find myself thinking about it. Only because I don't get enough of it 🙁

If people can get addicted to heroine, they can get addicted to tickling. No joke.

I think it's like alcoholism: you're not addicted if you know when to stop.

Well, I guess you probably can get addicted. Though I don't think I actually am addicted as such (I don't get the shakes at least until I've gone a whole day without tickling someone.......) I've certainly noticed how much I think about it compared to when I had no idea about what I feel about it.

What I mean is that until I found this place, I tickled my cousins when they gave me reason to, I tickled a few of my girlfriends at times and I thought about it occasionally. But after finding this place there are countless amounts of times when I'm speaking to a friend and suddenly the thought passes by "I wonder if she's ticklish..." or "Come on... just give me half a reason too..."

Then again, you could say that similar to the Aborigines of Australia who seem to unfortunately have alcoholism imprinted in their genetic structure... I probably always had an addiction of sorts to tickling, it just wasn't until recently that I knew what to fuel it with.
