Great news, TMF members...

The pioneering (tickle) founder, Cal Star, is back in action. While researching COUNT TICKULA, someone disclosed a phone number that turned out to be a direct line to the company's personnel. Enthusiasm for COUNT TICKULA has proven quite infectious; hence, Cal Star may reissue this classic on DVD (yep, the original classic with Julia Parton [below]). Furthermore, the DVD will be discounted from the astronomical rates posted on other sites. Equally great news: Cal Star is prepping some torrid (tickle-related) DVDs, "all new": let's hope for a starlet as tempestuous as Julia Parton (and let's not forget that Ms. Parton should be inducted in this site's Hall of Fame. Pronto). The Cal Star management may be posting a message within the next 24 hours.

I hope the moderators are taking note of this thread, because one inductee a year into the Hall of Fame just isn't enough to cover the scene's true pioneers.

I can't think of any ticklee who's been in more classic scenes, especially over such an extended period of time:

"Count Tickula"

That great scene (was it for Prestige?) in which Julia, as "Nina Alexander," had whipped cream licked off of her toes while she convulsed in hysterics...someone mentioned it earlier in the thread.

The various shoots for FM Concepts, including the one where she was spread eagled on blue sheets and tickled by Nikki Nova and Chase Brocco until she got the hiccups.

The "Super Ticklish" video for the above company, though I wasn't wild about the tickler (she was a bit too verbose for my taste).

TK-4 for Harmony, an extended duet with another ticklish woman (can't think of her name right now)

And evidently there was another great scene, when Ms. Parton was very young, back in the '80s, that Max Speer told me about in a long ago email...even I haven't seen that one.

Julia also had a nice turn as a tickler for Tao Productions in the film "Black Mail," as she tortured another very ticklish woman from early videos, Saki St. Jermaine (aka Satina). Unfortunately Saki never tickled Julia in that scene, which is too bad. There would have been another classic to include here.

And unfortunately there is only one person inducted per year. That means not only is the Hall smaller than it should be ...

Actually , I kinda like the fact that there's only one person inducted per year ... it's a good thing. It's more prestigious that way.

The problem w/many other "Halls of Fame" ... they let pretty much anybody in now. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ...?! That shit is a joke! Basically , if you ever put out a record , chances are you'll be inducted someday.

A Hall of Fame should be the best of the best. If people are abundantly inducted every year , it takes away the achievement of actually getting into the Hall in the first place.

That being said ... should Julia Parton be inducted into our tickling Hall of Fame ...?

Answer : HELLZ YES!!!

tk86: Thanks so much for recounting Julia Parton's tickle-related legacy. I only fear that many of her past videos may have eroded or faded. Happily, COUNT TICKULA survives (her British accent, in her early scenes as a barmaid, is so damn cute. Upon departing the tavern, she's abducted by the Count and tickled mercilessly--feet and upper body). You know, we should all nominate Julia for the Hall of Fame; let's pledge to work on that obligation over the weekend, please!

TKLMAN: I'm counting on you, too. I understand and respect your message--rather than turn the Hall into a faux award ceremony (Spike's Scream trophies, Kids' Choice Awards, Rock/Roll Hall of Fame, etc.), you're opting for dignity and credibility. Totally with you, man. I'm only afraid that that veteran directors and actresses may be increasingly neglected with each passing year (sample the omission of Pia Snow). But you're absolutely right, the Hall should shelter "the best of the best." And, in my humble opinion, Ms. Parton, Ms. Snow and Tony Sinclair definitely qualify as the best of the best. Thank you for your support of Ms. Parton as well as a sage judgement call.

It's official, Julia nominated--thanks Dorothy!

Only this time, let's make sure Julia Parton gets in.

I do also worry that the passage of time will make this immortal ticklee forgotten. We've all grown so accustomed to having dozens of video producers, clips for sale, etc. I do NOT want to diminish the achievements of the current producers who do things light years beyond what we had to settle for before. Tommy, TIB, Renee, Viviana--you ALL rock. You're all great!

But before any of the current producers, there were videos here and there that usually sucked. They were normally put together using porn stars on their days off, NOT people from the scene. The vids were shot the same day as other bondage videos and spanking vids and who knows what else.

Given all those odds, it's amazing that there were memorable videos at all. But when there were, Julia Parton could often be found in them.

And for those who compare our "hall" to that of the baseball and rock 'n' roll halls, the baseball (and for that matter football, basketball, and so on) hall often inducts MORE than one member each year. I believe a certain minimum amount of votes, or a percentage, is required. Considering that Julia, and the other trailblazers mentioned in this thread, are not in the TMF Hall yet and really need to be, perhaps a different voting system, similar to baseball's, should be considered.

Btw I agree with the earlier poster on the rock 'n' roll hall. It pretty much became a joke after the first several years, and I suspect it's driven by commerce rather than merit. No reason we have to turn into that.

This vid holds a lot of sentimental value to me. It was the first tickle vid I ever saw way back before I was on the web.

It also made me a nut for Whitney and Julia. Two fantastic and obviously ticklish redheads in one movie. Can't go wrong with that.
