1)Lady Day-The Best of Billie Holiday
2)Sounds of Summer-The Beach Boys
3)Draw Me Close-Vineyard Worship
4)Moments of the Heart 1& 2- Ray Boltz
5)The Brenda Lee Story- Brenda Lee
6)He Touched Me- The Gospel Side of Elvis Presley-Elvis Presley

1) I wish I had lived back then to see and hear Billy Holiday's fantastic performances! Her voice was wonderful and she showed true emotion when she sang.

2) I have a lot of The Beach Boys' music in my CD collection. I think they were far more influential than most people think...especially the "Pet Sounds" album.

3) I used to play bass for a Vineyard Church many years ago. A lot of those songs still touch me today, even though I'm not the same person I was back then.

4) I remember a song he did about watching Christ die on the cross. I haven't heard it in years but it was a very moving song with a nice melody.

5) How such a big voice came out of such a little lady is beyond me. I love the song "I'm Sorry"! You rarely hear cover versions of that song because it'd be hard to top her performance.

6) If he would have listened to his own Gospel recordings on August 15th 1977, maybe he wouldn't have died on August 16th.

Great list, Crydun, although I'm not too familiar with the other CD's. I'll definitely check 'em out, though.

Now, if I list MY Top 20 Album Recommendations, that could be considered hijacking Crydun's thread. Crydun, was your intent to have us list ours to, or did you want us to comment on your choices, which I've already done?

uhh if i hijacked it like u say... i didnt mean 2

I really don't think that you hijacked her thread. Where else could we go with her Top 20 Recommendations? She made some good choices but should we expand on that? That's what I wanted to know. If this thread is to survive longer than one glance per viewer, we all need to add our personal favorites and I think Crydun would agree with me. Perhaps her first post was the starting point for us to add our own Top 20. Crydun, please correct me if I'm wrong.

This is one of my favourite albums too! People might not consider it a 'must have' as much as Highway 61 Revisited or Blonde on Blonde, but I think some of his most moving and poetic songs are on it.

"Idiot Wind" is possibly THE greatest Dylan song, in my opinion, as far as the 70s are concerned. (Although I have a bit of trouble understanding the words)

By the way... Mornin', Angel!

Mornin'😀 although it's afternoon for me right now.

'Shelter From the Storm' especially gets to me, but I agree with you about Idiot Wind... Blood on the Tracks was one of the standard tapes my dad had in the car when I was a kid, and it wasn't until I looked at the case and read the titles that I knew the song was actually called 'Idiot Wind'!

Good Afternoon, Morning! That could get a bit confusing...

When I first heard "Idiot Wind" I thought he was singing, "Someone's got it in for me, the plaztinbuddlebeekayindabuh"... I still can't figure it out. I love the melody the most, although no one can touch him when it comes to lyrics. Sheer poetry!
