Most people, especially most girls, are ticklish, and she has a big toothy smile which is often a good indicator. Also, he probably didn't tickle her for the very first time at a public event where he didn't know how she'd take it. They spent a lot of time together on the movie set, and he probably knew he was going to get a reaction and that's why he did it.
