DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN!!!!! life is sucking right now. one of the greatest runs in NBA history came to an end. the Los Angeles Lakers will not win their 4th consecutive title this year. i guess you cant win forever. i will give the San Antonio Spurs credit. they came in and played their asses off. this time they shedded the "choke" syndrome by playing uncharacteristically well in the 4th quarter. Tim Duncan showed why he is the MVP. oh well, i guess the better team won this series. you wont see me give a million excuses or complaints (like the Sacramento Kings did last year), the Lakers lost.

but consider the fact that only 5 teams have ever won 3 in a row. the Minneapolis Lakers won 3 in a row, the Celtics won 8 in a row, the Bulls won 3 titles in a row twice, and the LA Lakers. man, for three years we were living it up in LA. we have the best two players in the league in Kobe and Shaq. we have role players that can step it up in the clutch. other teams had to reach down DEEP just to beat us, as the Lakers always fight to the bitter end. no lead was ever safe with the Lakers. remember them coming back from 30 points down to the Dallas Mavericks in the 4th quarter? remember their awful start of the season only to rebound and still finish 5th in the Western Conference and tie with the #1 team in the East in terms of record? i will remember the huge plays like Shaq's alley-oop dunk in Game 7 of the Western Conference finals in 2000 against the Portland Trailblazers, or Robert Horry's shot against the Kings in Game 4 of the Western Conference in 2002. who can forget their 15-1 run in the 2001 playoffs? who can forget their dominance of the New Jersey Nets in the 2002 NBA Finals? man, these 3 years flew by.

i want to give out some props for the Laker players. that's Shaq, Kobe, Horry, Fox, Fisher, Madsen, Devean George, B-Shaw, Samaki, Slava Medvedenko, Jannero Pargo, Kareem Rush, and Tracy "i never played" Murray. man, the memories. but next year, expect the Lakers to be BACK. dont think we will go quietly into the night. in 2004, the Lakers will win the title. you heard it here first.....

Sorry to hear, not much chance of my team of pulling their heads out of the ground and coming back from anything Thank God for Detriot

who's your team? as long as Sacramento doesnt win, then i guess this season isnt a complete flop.....

Cleveland Indians

Poor Limeoutsider! No World Series victory since 1948. My team (the Dodgers) last won in 1988, not too recent either. 🙁

I think they should fire their manager. I dont know his name (what a fan, eh?) but I do know its his 1st season and hes suppost to be the youngest manager in the league. Clearly he isnt getting the job done

The Indians' manager is named Eric Wedge. Given their record so far (something like 12-26 last time I looked at the AL), maybe he should be looking for his next job.

When I read the paper and see that the Indians won I wonder if its a misprint

In 1992, the Dodgers finished at 63-99. It was not only their worst year in my lifetime, it was the worst since the 1910's, before my parents were born. I had the same feeling that year--on rare days when they won, I thought it was a misprint.

Take heart, though, L.O. One year later, they bounced back to .500 at 81-81, and 3 years later, in 1995, they won their division (NL West).

Who Gives A ..

Shit. It's only a game, and one with a fixed outcome at that. NBA Basketball has been rigged for years.

That's what a math teacher I know says. According to him, "If a team can get over 70 straight wins (UCONN-it's not NBA but close enough), then it's not a sport."

fixed huh? that's what they all say, and the proof is where?

all i know is that the Lakers will be back next year. you heard it here first...

Hmm If I Recall...

There have been various law agencies that have investigated pro B Ball. And in fact HisdEvine posted what I consider the most damning evidence. It's not possible for a team to win the amount of games that are won by some of the teams. It violates the bell curve.

Of course they'll be back. They have to or the league and networks will lose money. Note the NBA needed the Lakers to lose this year because they're on the downside of the profit curve. Same with the gamblers. Next year the Lakers will be back simply because it'l make money for the league and gamblers. I had a gambler tell me once there are only two sports that can be fixed. One is boxing, the other Pro Basketball. Guess what? They both are,.

Ok who is giving out the free drugs, and why didn't I get any?

so what you are saying, if a team has a long win streak, then something is awry?? not necessarily. that would mean UCLA's dominance of NCAA titles would be fixed, or it's "not a sport." how about this, there is a high school in Concord, California (De La Salle High school) that has won 130 straight games. they havent lost since Dec 1991. are their games fixed? high school football is "not a sport"? of course it is a sport, and of course their games are not fixed. i guess it is hard for people to believe that a team can actually have a long run of dominance. yeah, there are incidents of "fixes", but that doesnt mean the ENTIRE sport is fixed.

but then again, if the NBA is fixed, and it means the Lakers will have another dominant run, then so be it!!! 😀

All those wins may not nessecarily mean it is fixed, but it does mean that too much talent is concentrated in one place. Competition is what sports are about, not about one team with god-like players mowing everybody else over like to much grass underfoot. I don't know about you, but I like close, competitive games better than games where one team can score a bazillion times and the other can't even get the ball.

Would that be a stab at the Yankees?

Unknown. I don't really follow sports, which is why if I hear about it, it's usually a one-time miracle, or a very bad situation. And this is no one-time miracle.
