Diamonds can be man's worst friend

I saw a program on the history channel last night called diamond wars. It seems a lot of wars have been fought in Africa and elsewere for control of diamond mines, with the result being a lot of "blood diamonds" being sold throughout the world. The wars have ended but it seems that arms merchants and terrorists are now taking over the underground trade. So that rock that you ladies wear on your finger might literary be a "bloodstone" Also I have cracked the 100 post barrier today and I must say how much I have enjoyed posting on this forum.

Yep, diamonds have often been a source of pain in Africa, not least to the native laborours who thought of incredibly biological methods of hiding them to smuggle them back out.
