Did you ever get 'caught' before you were ready?

Firstly, despite being registered to the forum for quite a few years now I have to confess I only seem to pop in on a weekly to montly basis, so apologies if this thread, or something very similar, has been covered before or recently. I don't get around enough to see every thread. I'm making it my summer challenge, however, to get more involved in the site, so please look forward to some posts from a silly teenage Yorkshireman (nineteen by the way - before the higher powers start biting their fingernails and pressing the panic button!)

Anyway, I was reading a thread recently that led to a few posters discussing the content on their PC and how they block others from accessing their personal tickling material and it got me thinking about being 'caught', in terms of having the fetish. I'd be pretty confident in saying that many of the posters on this forum are so open about their fetish that this isn't something that occurs to them anymore, but I wonder about when these people very first 'developed' the fetish whether this applies to them.

My first curiosity lies within the question 'when were you ready to be more open about your fetish'? How open are you about it now? Does everyone know? Just the girlfriend? How long did it take for you to tell somebody? From a personal point of view, I think I first became 'curious' about tickling at 13 🙂scaredofmods🙂 and to this date am the only one in my life who I'm comfortable with knowing about my fetish (the slightly weird phrasing of that is significant, because, as I'm about to divulge in my second point, I don't think I'm the only one who KNOWS about my fetish). That means roughly 6 years of being 'alone' with it. I imagine that period will extend and extend until either a) I'm so comfortable with a partner that I'm confident enough to tell her or b) I spill all on a drunken night out in Sheffield just as an Akon song ends. It's not something that troubles me - I like that it's private and personal to me and it's not like it eats away at me and I have to get it off my chest. I was just wondering where others stood on this. So question number 1 relates to all things involved with who knows about your fetish, when did you tell them, how secret are you about it etc.

My second question, and I've digressed a bit before getting here, is 'were you ever caught before you were ready?' By that I mean did anyone discover your fetish before you were ready to let it be discovered. This one really does apply to me, because, as I semi touched on earlier, I'm pretty certain my brother is aware of my fetish (I've been really slack with my computer over the years and he's had ample opportunity to accidentally stumble across giveaways - web history, recommended videos on my YouTube account(!), the lot. And it's funny because I panic about anyone discovering my fetish, yet him knowing doesn't rattle me at all (and I don't think it's that I'm stupid enough to convince myself he might not know, he'd be a moron not to have worked it out). I know he knows and I reckon he knows I know, but it's ok because it doesn't create uncomfortbale situations at all - I mean relatives will tickle each other in front of us two and he won't nervously glance at me to see if I've got a massive boner or owt*, he just acts normally as do I. But yeah, I was wondering if others were found out before they expected, and whether it had more telling consequenses than mine has, and how things went from there.

To answer your first question:

I am a very open person to begin with. I make no bones about who I am or where my interests lie. I didn't use to be this way though. Back when I was in my early adolescence (around 11 to 15) I was extraordinarily introverted and shy. I would clam up in a instant about anything remotely personal to me.

It was in my late teens, early adulthood I started to come out of my shell a little more. As fr as my tickling fetish goes, I have been open about it since I was 17 or so. I don't go around wearing it on my sleeve or proclaiming it to the heavens, but I don't shy away from the subject if it is brought up or leads to a conversation.

To answer your second question:

Yes I did almost get caught once before I was ready. I was 16 and had just discovered the wonderful world of online porn. Needless to say, my hard drive was stocked with enough pics and clips to satisfy a legion of horny tickle enthusiasts.

Well, I had a friend spend the night once, and I left to go to the bathroom some time later that evening s we were surfing the web. When I returned to my room, I walked in just as he was clicking on a folder labeled "pics" (yeah, I was quite computer naive back then)

I made a mad dash to the power cord and yanked it out of the socket before the folder could open. He of course wanted to know what the hell that was all about, to which I gave some half-assed response that I don't quite remember.

Since then, I've been more careful. Being honest, tickling is pretty much the only thing I don't want people finding out about; bondage, sure. It's normal and a few people have guessed, somehow... I used to be all gothy, damn stereotypes. And, well, that's cool with people. Tickling, though, is also a social interaction, it's flirty etc. I don't want people thinking that I'm getting sexual gratification or something when I poke them in the side or something. I definitely agree with that, I think that is the main reason I still have only told a couple of people about my fetish. I'm always afraid of being creepy. For me, I've always been so paranoid about people finding out, so I haven't had many close calls. I always clear my history after a search, don't have files saved, and have a different youtube account. There was one time though I had a friend over (I was only 15 o 16 at the time) and we went onto google, I accidentally clicked the link in my toolbar below the regular google and pulled up a search for tickling. I hit the back key then went about my business. He didn't say anything, which hopefully means he didn't notice.

I am very shy about anything sexual as I have very little experience with it in any form. I told my ex [I was with her for five years] and even though she really didn't like it she would play with me. To date she is the ony person [not on this board] ho knows that about me..............I am not sure how I would handle it if someone I didn't want to know found out. No one's ever found out, but I came very close to telling an entire roomful of people a few years back.

I used to have a friend who was a devoted Howard Stern fan. He loved to regale all his friends with stories of Stern's latest escapades. Once, at a small house party, he had the guests in stitches as he acted out some of the pranks, banter, and phone calls from the show.

Everyone chuckled when he told us about siblings taking off each others' clothes, and people using sex toys on the air. Everyone boggled, though, when my friend told them about a certain gentleman who had appeared on Stern's live broadcast a day or two earlier, a gentleman who makes his living selling videos of people being tied up and tickled.
