different types of laughter?

Is laugh different if you are being tickled or if you're watching a funny movie?
Obviously laughter from tickling lasts longer, but is there a difference in how you laugh given why you would be laughing?

Hmm that's a good question. I never really noticed..but now that you mention it I think for me it is. When I'm being tickled I naturally try really hard to hold in my laughter, so it comes out in short kinda high-pitched bursts sometimes LOL When I laugh at a comedian or a funny movie, I just laugh out loud, without trying to hold it in.

Similar for me, except I don't really try to hold it back. It is different though. If certain spots are tickled correctly, I laugh in a frantic, high-pitched, girly way that I NEVER do in public.

Well, I dunno. A friend of mine laughs pretty much the same, natural laughter is when she really gets going. Being tickled speeds up the process. There's still a similarity. (And no, when tickled, she can't hold it back, it's great.)

my laugh changes often, anything from short giggles to almost a screaming laugh when you hit the right spots

I have different types of laughter whatever happens, whether I'm being tickled, watching something funny on the telly or someone being funny with me. I'd have a loud laugh, a silent one, snorts and a woody woodpecker laugh.
