Oh okay. I misuderstood. a lot of songs have no ending when recorded sweetie. The song you refer to, Something for Nothing, does the same thing. A lot of Mark Knopflers songs do that.
"Money For Nothing", reportedly written by Mark Knopfler while shopping. Seems he overheard some people who were watching MTV in the appliance department of a mall store talking about Elton John. (Don't quote me on this...).
To just pick one favorite is pretty much impossible for me. Being a guitar player, Knopfler is one of my idols. His solo on "Sultans of Swing" damn near brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it, but I have to admit "Romeo and Juliet" is up there as one of my favorites from them. The whole Making Movies album is great, and Roy Bittan really kills it on "Tunnel of Love" (another one of my favorites). "So Far Away From Me," "Telegraph Road," "Walk of Life," and yes, even "Money for Nothing," are all great as well. Good to know there is another fan!
