So like the title says. Any directions any place that could steer someone in the right direction for building some stocks?

Well i got all the help i needed via pm. Thanks for all the input kids.

Just get some scrap wood and basic tools, hold the basic concept in your head, and pretend you're working with shapable (sp?) legos. That's what I do, and it seems to come out ok. Oh, and plan to spend a few hours wandering among all the hinge and clasp and eyebolt gizmos at your local hardware store.

Helps if you have a willing assistant to sort of check out sizing and fit along the way. 🙂

Good luck!

Ahhhhh, please share the help. We would like to build some too!!!

Since you're in the Chicago area, we have a set we could sell ya! Enclosed is a pic...write if interested...
My girlfriend could also show you how she built mine (stationary, like the enclosed pic, OR moveable like my signature pics)--of course, payment would involve demonstrating them on YOU! LOL

Note: I have no experience building these, just some thoughts on how it could be done... this is by no means a definitive guide and could be completely wrong.

I'd have thought just get a couple of planks of wood, reasonably thick and strong, and cut semicircles in them in the correct/desired places (a jigsaw would be ideal). Use something padded on the inside to minimise splinters/chafing. Attach hinges on one side and some form of lock on the other side.

Modify design as needed - extra points to tie toes to, or a bit to slide under the mattress.

Sure, it's a really basic version, but if they needed reinforcing a couple planks on each end to with the stocks bit layered inbetween (ensuring the holes are still accessible!) should do there.

Varnish them, and done.
