Do you like to talk about your fantasy as a "tickle fetish" or you prefer to use other words?

"Fetish" may sound scary or almost offensive for someone, but on the other hand... what other words can be used to explain what we like?

I have heard this explanation before. Strictly speaking, a fetish is a sexual attraction to a non-sexual, inanimate object, such as a shoe, a stocking, panties, etc. The term foot fetish is something of a misnomer. A person who is sexually attracted to the female foot is actually called a partialist from the word 'part', as in body part. Titty-men, booty-men, leg-men, and foot-men are all partialists. My favorite body part happens to be the female foot, hence I am a foot partialist. Does that sound less put-offish?

I never liked the word. It makes me think of fettuccine, or feta cheese, both of which I have no desire to equate to my sexual interests. The word just sounds like something I'm going to grate all over whatever word is connected to it (Think, Parmesan cheese all over a pair of feet. :xlime: ).

I don't like the word "fetish" to describe my interests, since, as noted above, it should be used to apply to inanimate objects (such as a shoe fetish or a glove fetish).

I prefer to say I have an interest (or, more specifically, an erotic interest) in tickling and in women's bare feet.

i hate the word, makes it seem like we're people with fetishes are these middle aged perverts who live in basements watching messed up porn all day...

:whipcrack: Never liked the term

Eh, it doesn't matter much. Personally, I like the term "kink," but not the word "kinky." Hm.

Yes, I like it and use it interchangably with "interest," et cetera.

(While it's true that the dictionary definition still more often describes a fascination with an object or something, I think that the population now uses mostly to mean "a sexual paraphilia." Today, few people will misunderstand what somebody means if they refer to "a curtain fetish" or "a DVD fetish" or whatever, even with obscure examples like those. I think that's a slightly more reliable measure of what a word's meaning is, and I predict that dictionaries will catch up soon.)

It doesn't bother me, but I know it holds negative connotations for some. I tend to not use it if I'm talking about tickling with vanilla people. But that doesn't really happen too often lol

I agree with mils. When I describe my enjoyment regarding female feet and tickling, I always tell people that I have a dual "Interest" of tickling, and female feet. Although, my real life friends do say to me: "Mitch, we know you have a foot and tickling fetish", and that doesnt offend me.

I think I feel as I do, because the word "fetish", has a negative connotation. People think: "Oh, this person cant get aroused sexually, unless they are tickling someone, or in contact with feet". For me, that is not true. I dont have to be tickling a girl, or playing with a girl's feet, to become sexually aroused. For this reason, I refer to my enjoyment of feet and tickling, as "interests". It also sheds them in a more positive light, I feel.

Mitch

I prefer "enthusiast". Because "tickling fetishist" just didn't look right on the business cards.

I don't like that six letter word, but I do like a couple of four letter words.

In all I prefer: Enthusiast - like above post. Or, all around, Individualist.

Scientifically; I have a fetish, but that's for those suppossed scholarly people to talk about, and write about.

I like the word fetish over other things it's called. To me it's the best by default.

I do not really like the word "fetish" to be honest. I would rather it be called a love or a passion-an enjoyment-kink to be honest. The word "fetish" is just so putting it out there in the open and out there on the table-just sounds really weird to say out loud especially to those you trust to confide in that are "vanilla" not really into the whole tickle scene -sounds bit strange and negative to be honest. I rather explain it as a love or passion for-a great enjoyment of this hobby-not call it a fetish. So for me I am not comfortable and do not like using the term fetish. I prefer to use these other terms. In my experience limited though it be-when confiding to a couple close friends-it was perceived and taken better using other terms-both could relate to staying away from the term fetish. When I used the other terms-much better to understand what I was saying and not judge harshly-did not think bad of me or my love for tickling.

no, i hate the word fetish. say the word fetish to most vanillas, and they will recoil in horror and turn on you, as my past experiences have shown me.
the only successful time i have ever had at outing myself, was when i simply started by saying i like feet, then saying i like having my feet tickled, afterall thats the truth. then i just said i wanted to me held down and tickled, which sounds much less severe than saying, i have a tickling fetish.
