My parents and I have been shopping there since I was in diapers, and although I applied there once, I sadly didn't get the job (maybe I'll have better luck the second time). After shopping at the same location for so many years, I love how I've managed to form good relationships with the staff, which has created this genuine sense of community among us (I'm sure you've done the same with the location you've shopped at). How long have you shopped/worked there? Did you shop there before you got hired? What are some of your favorite groceries? In terms of snacks, I'm not too fussy over the type and flavor of chips, cookies, or ice cream I get, but some of my favorites include the Clancy's corn puffs, those peanut butter and chocolate cookies, and Moose Tracks ice cream. While I also like the flavored water they have, there's some which just taste flat for whatever reason. I just ate some Lunch Buddies Dino and Dragon fruit snacks, which my brother and I would sometimes eat while watching cartoons in the late 90's (those were the days!).

Honestly things have been TIGHT lately with the rising cost of living (even with me getting income from taking care of family in their old age). I was actually hitting up food pantries for awhile. Aldis too me is always kind of a gamble when it comes to food. One one hand I got some awesome gluten free corn chips but on the other hand the corn salsa I got with it tasted like paint thinner.

I understand exactly what you mean by living on a very tight budget because I've been living off of my savings since I lost my job in December of 2023, and haven't had much luck finding a new job since. I've gone to food pantries before as well, but I prefer the ones that let you pick out what you want or need, rather than giving you a whole bunch of food that you'll never eat and have to give away. This township my dad used to work for does the latter and I haven't been back since.

Yup, times are really tough right now.

Love this — it’s brilliant how shopping somewhere long-term really does build that sense of community. I’ve had a similar experience with my local shop too, and it definitely makes the whole visit feel more personal. Good luck with your next application — second time’s often the charm! It’s a bit like web development as well — presenting a professional image, like using digital cards, really helps to create a strong, tech-savvy first impression. If you’re curious about that side of things, angular migration service is worth a look.

When I was working at this bar near me (which I still go to on occasion), I've also experienced it's sense of community among the staff and regulars, and now I have a family-like relationship with them. Because of the issues I had with my parents before I moved out, that was a place I often went to whenever I needed to get away from them.
