Does anyone buy erotica?

Hi guys. So, I kinda got this idea a few weeks ok for a tickling-centric erotica novel, but I don't really want to go forward with it because, well, it seems kind of pointless. Like, even just the forum is flooded with stories, and clips, and comics and stuff, so it doesn't seem like I'd get a lot of paying customers. Plus this is f/m, and from the woman's perspective, so it's already a pretty niche interest. Although it is strictly tickling, so I guess I have that going for it, lol.

I don't know, do you think there'd be enough of a demand to at least make a few bucks off of it? And if I did go for it, do you know of any places I could publish it besides amazon? I don't think I'd want it out in the general public and linked back to me lol.

And on the off-hand I do decide to write this, does anyone know of any pros that they could refer me too? I have a basic idea for the premise, but there are a few details I'd like to check about.

I've been slowly working on some stories as well for a few years now, when real life allows, that I'd like to publish. I've done a fair bit of poking and research. For what it's worth I say this: go for it. You probably won't be able to quit your job or anything. You may only make literally a couple of bucks. But no harm will come from giving it a shot.

As far as worrying about your story being f/m, well there isn't as much demand here for that. But this is ultimately an adult website. There is a lot of adult (read pornographic) content on here. And most of that I think is driven by the males ( and I'm speaking in very broad terms here, trolls. Settle down. I hear you howling.). Publishing on Amazon or Smashwords, you might find an audience for your material that just doesn't feel catered to here.

No, you're right, it is driven by the male (lers) here and that's part of why I'm hesitant. (Come at me trolls, I can take it.) Is it just on this forum? Is it indicative of the community as a whole? I feel like there's a few more male lee friendly folks on fetlife and maybe I can promote a little there. There actually will be a few brief m/f scenes, which are more the male being playfully instigative to get the female to retaliate, and one "revenge" scene, but not enough to draw the m/f crowd I don't think lol. I think I'll make it pretty cheap, but I'd still like the work to feel "worth it", you know?

Also, do you know if you can sign up with a pen name on those sites? I know linking bank accounts is one thing, but do they go through some weird verification process were you have to display your legal name? Like I said, I don't really want the story linked back to me personally...
