Does anyone here know of any good, effective, un-delete programs (that aren't bullshit "free" - you need to pay to activate it, I mean free like, FREE. Pov-Ray free, malaware free, etc.
A while back my computer was hit by a very smart virus that hid all my files on my main harddrive. It did delete some files, and screwed up some in the system restore area.
I was able to save a lot of my stuff after a long time with another computer, hard drive docking bay, etc.
Normally, when I do a standard system restore, data I created stayed on the hard drive stayed, pictures, videos, etc.
Sadly, this time, because of the unique virus/damage, everything not in the core of the system was saved - files saved directly to the C: drive stayed.
But everything inside the core area - bookmarks, pictures in my "My Pictures" folder, videos in the "My Videos" folder saved by RealPlayer, all got deleted. Stuff from almost 10 years ago I had carried over. (Much stuff was saved in other drives over the years....before you say "You should have saved it in another drive!")
Picture wise, we're talking a few thousand pictures, and almost a thousand videos, and a few thousand bookmarks. (Everytime I see a site that interests me, I book mark it, intending to "check it out later." Yes, I'm a massive procrastinator!)
If I can save that stuff, that's a lot of stuff I intend to post in the picture area......HINT HINT HINT HINT OUTRIGHT TELL pantyhose lovers!
Hot girls in costumes wearing pantyhose, brides in pantyhose with shoes off, a few being tickled......and also pictures of friends, funny pictures, that most I could probably spend months looking for again, but many are gone forever.
I appreciate any help, and I'll try each program and see what I can recover.
