I will admit, when I was a kid (which was legal till about 3 months ago, lol) I almost died when I saw the episode of iCarly with her and Sam's feet at the camera. LOL

I used to think it's a matter of time before the do a show where Freddy has to lick or smell Sam's feet because she's "Mean", but really it's to hide the producer's fetish.

A while ago I had a feeling something was going on at Nickelodeon that might have been promoting foot fetishism, and might have been the reason why I developed mine (this was before all the modern shows, back in the days of "All That" and even older shows like "Salute Your Shorts"). Now I think that it's just purely coincidence or put in because its funny, but that doesn't mean that certain kids won't see it differently and develop a foot fetish from it, possibly like I did!

On a side note, I'm not completely blaming Nickelodeon for my foot fetish, it just may have contributed to it!

So let's suppose Nickelodeon IS trying to plant seeds of foot fetish in it's viewers, to blossom during adulthood- is this an insidious plot? Or is it actually healthy and OK? (I could argue either side)

If you're gonna ask if Nickelodeon promotes foot fetishism to anyone who could be attracted to it (other than us) whenever they watch the channel, you might as well ask the first question too...

and you also might want to ask if Nickelodeon promotes Trichophilia (hair fetishism) due to the prevalence of actors who have hair in the non-cartoon shows...

You may also ask if nickelodeon promotes Acousticophilia (Which is when a person gets off to sounds.) due to the prevalence of sounds throughout the whole channel.

The point I'm getting at is anything on any media, anywhere at anytime, can, will, and has been sexuallized by any and everybody, no matter the age... It's all subjective stuff that cannot be fully remedied by any method...

No matter how much feet are shown, there's no way of knowing that it is done purposefully by the channel... It's not like Nick can predict what the billions of people of the world are capable of getting off to!

However, if the whole network was mainly about showing feet then yes, that conclusion and the answer to the question of this thread can be made. 😉

I probably shouldn't have gotten all self-righteous saying "THOSE PERVERTS" because people can't control what sexually arouses them. You're right that it's people themselves who begin to see everything sexually. I probably also shouldn't call it a bad thing because; it's a byproduct of us just being human.

Reproduction is biologically hardwired into us. A "biological leash" (Edward O. Wilson, wikipedia is your friend 😉 ) has this "grip" over us. It's a combination of heredity, past experience and your environment. It dictates your behavior, but in a very flexible way. So naturally, with sex being a REQUIREMENT for the survival of a species, it's only natural that they begin to see it everywhere.

If you'd like to call bullshit on that, I can provide you some evidence for the so-called biological leash that virtually everyone has access to. Humans, and some other animals tend to smile when they're happy, and can recognize a smile as happiness. You might consider that a "learned" behavior but even people that were blind since birth smile.

More evidence is sexual reproduction among animals considered less intelligent than humans. We certainly didn't teach them that. Gotta love evolution.. 🙂

Just to clarify for you and the CIA spooks who're eavesdropping, I have no sexual desire for underage kids. That's perversion, or psychological illness, and such people should seek treatment voluntarily.

I kinda know how my fetishes developed, largely inspired by pop culture and comic books, commercials, etc as a kid. (Torture is shown as sexy in movies etc) Even AD&D games (plenty of women chained up in D&D illustrations) It ignited a spark in my developing psyche somewhere along the line, and I'm actually very thankful for the fetishes I have today.

I don't think Nickelodeon is really trying to incubate a foot fetish among minors, but I do think minors are constantly bombarded with sexual images at WAY TOO EARLY an age and parents need to complain.

But ICarly and her friend waving their toes at the camera or whatever IS NOT a sexual image, because they're KIDS; they're NOT sexually developed adults!! There needs to be a difference, and my complaint is how pop culture seems to try to blur that distinction between child and adult.
