does one know if they are ticklish or not?

Sounds like a dumb question but bear with me. Sadly if someone were to ask me if I am ticklish, I would say no. But could I be wrong? I was when I was younger, but now its unwillingly turned off.
Is it conscious knowledge to know if you are ticklish or not?

Not always. I've tickled a few women who were like, "okay, I don't think it'll do any good, but you can try."

And, twenty minutes later they were howling and wiping tears out of their eyes.

Some people have just never been tickled the right way, by the right person, or under the right circumstances. You never know until you try.

Here's my answer:

I don't date that often but when I do, my boyfriends always tickle me. Every time they tickle me, I am surprised how ticklish I am. When I'm not dating, I'm not getting tickled, so I kind of 'forget' how ticklish I am.

If people were to ask me if I'm ticklish, I say, "a little bit" because I feel everyone is a bit and I am in the average norm. Then when I get a pedicure or a massage, people say, "you're one of the more ticklish people i've met" - and that also surprises me.

My boyfriends usually say, "you're really ticklish" and I just thought everyone is, but i guess I am more than your average person.

Because I don't have 'tickle sessions' etc., it's hard for me to judge.

So yes, I think u don't know ur own ticklishness unless u're really involved with tickling - like everyday with lots of people.

Exactly. And there can also be a difference in ticklishness between different days, and as you said different people, circumstances etc.

Still, you could anwer "I don't know" to that question. But that would probably be like begging to get tickled. 😉

I think all people are ticklish they just may not be as ticklish as other people. I think it is just a natural skin response. Now whether it is just a creepy skin crawling feeling or a down right laugh fest varies of course.
