For many years i hated my first name.I often wished my parents had named me Joe,or Don,Mike,Phil, anything but Brad.

I finally figured out it was not the name but the person it was attached to that bothered me.Once i got that worked out to some degree at least i began to feel more comfortable with it but even then i've never liked it that much.I've never felt like a Brad if that makes any sense.

Anyone else? And would you change your first name if you could?I know its possible but it would cause a lot of trouble and confusion it seems to me.When you get down to it i don't think i'd change mine, not at this late date.

When i was living in Houston years ago i was nicknamed Rusty by someone and lots of people knew me by that name only.I kind of liked the sound of it but when i moved to Austin it didn't stick and no one has called me that since.

And for some of you troublemakers here theres no need to start, comprende? 😛

(Glares at Kered and a few other miscreants who are always looking to start something.)

Well Rust....er, I mean Brad, when I was in my pre-teens I didn't like my first name much. As I got older I found that the name wasn't so bad after all especially when girls would use it. So I guess Derek suits me just fine.

My first name is EXTREME. With capitalisation.

So yeah, it kind of does.

No, I don't think that it fits me. But it doesn't bother me either. 😀

People seem to like the name Reuben, and people seem to like me. *smug*
So it does fit, I guess...😎

I believe my name suits me. I'm Lee pleased to meet you 😛

As I've said before; Lee by name and by nature.

My buds and family call me LeeLee, which I don't mind.

I do like the name Isabella and I think if I ever have a daughter I may have to call her that, with the agreement of the father of course lol :jester:

Hey Rusty, hope you're doin good (moves out of the way of flying objects haha)! :xpeepsofa

Aw honey, we luvs ya really :smilelove

Don't worry about it, I have the piss taken out of me on a daily basis, especially at work but then I'm a plonker most of the time and get my words all cocked up and of course then comes the mockery, well deserved I might add 😉 :manicd:

I think Brad's a sexy name.

I like mine now but hated it when I was a kid. Nobody else had that name. They'd remember it was an "S" name and call me Staci or Susan. Everybody spelled it wrong or made up stupid nicknames "Hey there STEP ON ME!"
(Ya. REAL funny, jackass.)

And the first day of school was always torture because the roster only had a certain amount of spaces. So some teacher would always be calling out "St. John, STEPHEN" and the whole class would crack up. "IT'S STEPHANIE" I'd correct them loudly. "Oh. whoops, sorry 'bout that" was the usual response. I guess it'd be funny if it happened to somebody else.

Nowadays when people ask me my name, I always smile and tell them "Stephanie. You know. Just like Princess of Monaco." That always gets a nod and that knowing "oh she thinks she's so special" look. But you know what? They don't get my name wrong anymore.😀

XOXO

Love you also beautiful! Its when my friends stop making fun of me that i worry.😉

Thanks sexy, luv you also. And Stephanie has always been one of my favorite names for a hot babe like you.😉

Virginia is unique, but it's far too classical and, well, old for me.

I think Gin fits me well.

I hate my "real" first name, so I shortened it and go by Katie. No I'm not saying what it is because I really do hate it. I think Katie fits my personality a whole lot better though.

I always liked my name just fine. Only my mom calls me William thou, everyone else calls me Bill. My ex-wife didn't like my name, but what does she know?

I think Dave fits me quite well. It kind of has a laid back feel to it, which suits me just fine. I have no problem with David, but I've just gotten more used to Dave. Only my parents still call me David. Even my bosses call me Dave.

besides my brother from another mother, i'm like the only Julius in my area. I think it fits me pretty well, not a lot of people expect me to have my name when they first meet me. My initials are also an acronym for Jelly Peanutbutter Sandwich

Elizabeth fits the professional, quiet, shy side of me. But Lyz is what I typically go by, and I think that fits more of the sassy mouthy side of me 🙂 which is why I changed it from Liz to Lyz. Liz seems boring...Lyz just looks spunkier 🙂

Re: Does my real first name fit me?

To...a...T.

Cheers. :wavingguy

I was the same way as a kid Brad. I thought Jason was just too plain or common. As I grew up I realized, like you did, it was the guy behind the name that mattered, and I like me. 😀 So now Jason, J, Jay, Jayse, BigJay all have rotations from different friends and none of them bother me a bit.

I'm not a fan of Adam. It's common, boring, and you can't do anything with it. I guess that suits me though. -_-

I'd prefer to go by my middle name because I think I look more like a Ben. But I swear every Ben I've met in my life has been an asshole so I never took it on.

Well I think my name fits me quite well. Except I often get mistaken for Melissa and I'm like "NO YOU IDIOT!!!" My name is not Melissa yuck!

I like being a Melanie it's perfect for me.

I do like my middle name too and think it also fits sometimes I go by it, but not often.

I used to think mine was lame when I was younger, but I don't mind it anymore. I mean, at least I wasn't named Gaylord or anything. :manicd:
