Donovan McNabb traded to Redskins.....thoughts?

McNabb is not a Hall of Famer. The only way he'll ever make it in is if he leads the Redskins to a Super Bowl victory at some point.

And maybe the 49ers will draft Jimmy Clausen if he falls that far or a QB at some point in the draft. I can't believe they still think Alex Smith is salvageable. San Francisco would be a serious threat had they taken Aaron Rodgers that year. Now they have to catch up with the other NFC teams.

Tickle Fiend, you know exactly how us 49er fans feel. When Smith was drafted, I was cussing till midnight! I wanted Rodgers since he went to Cal, and he grew up in the area. Plus, Smith came from Urban Meyer's system, which doesn't prepare a QB for the NFL. If they weren't going to take Rodgers, then at least take Braylon Edwards. I could live with him, and have Tim Rattay as QB.

Oh how I wish we got McNabb. We're a QB away from being in the playoffs consistently. Alex Smith definitely is not the answer. Now, if he somehow turns it around, I will be happy because the Niners are winning, but I just don't believe in the guy.

It is so weird to see a franchise quarterback traded in the NFL. I honestly don't think McNabb is gonna adjust well and I don't think he's gonna be anything special playing for a worse off team. On another note, I think that Vick eventually becomes the starter in Philly, has a mediocre year, (like you'd expect anything more out of a never great to begin with quarterback) and gets released at the end.

I still can't believe they traded him within the division. That is just crazy. There's not a lot in Washington, but remember, for YEARS McNabb didn't have receivers in Philly. With Mike Shanahan as coach, I think the Redskins will be much better.

Agreed...and look at what McNabb did when he actually had a talented but head case receiver, T.Owens...Philly to the Superbowl.

I think it's advantage Redskins, at least in the short term. Both McNabb and Shanahan will have something to prove.
