I was the victim of a major virus attack today. I recovered most of my files but I will probably have to wipe the system clean and reload everything this will take me days probably. I tell you this so that you will check systems and upload the latest security patches from Microsoft. The virus uses RPC to restart your computer in a minute when you try to hook up to the net. The virus is called LoveSan or MSBlaster. Check your systems out and update those breeches in microsoft.

My system should be up to its old self in a few days hopefully. I should still be able to get on here but I may be absent a day or two if things do not go well. Even though I may be down, I am not out.

Thanks Krokus. I found a fix tool that symantec puts out for free. if you have the signs of this virus and no virus scanner you may wish to try this tool. If you have your own virus scanning software I would definitely got the most recent updates and check your system out.
Hopefully everything will work out. At least I am going to take tomorrow off because of all this so there is a little bit of a bright side to it.😀

Good luck with the damage control, Kurch. We've done that a few times over the years. Now, I have things locked down so tight we have to open access for everything we do. It takes an extra second here and there. But, it's well worth it...esp. when Real Player and other programs have so much unauthorized shit going on.

Thanks Ann. I believe I am up and running again. The moral of this story is too update microsoft windows whenever there are new patches that take care of security issues. I think that was a mistake I made which I shall not make again. So it looks like ol' Silly kurchatovium is back. Now where is that jar of marmalade....😀 😀
