Dragon ball gt

Yippie toonami is showing the remainder of the z saga by giving us the never before seen in America anime Dbz: gt

Gt stands for generation two. I dont know how much of the show that they can show us. I heard they left out some of the story.

Ive seen like most of the anime but in japanese. Some dude sold me tapes of the anime from japan but they had sub-titles. Its a great show. Great art and alot of great epic battles.

November 7, Friday @ 6:30. One episode per week. Im so freakin glad that America finally undertands that there are alot of anime fans across the U.S.

By the way, its Dragonball GT, not DBZ: GT -- and GT stands for Grand Tour.

I've seen Funimations take on GT, and unfortunatly its pretty bad (I'm qualified to say this cause I've seen the whole series in japanese (Some of it fansubbed...some of it ^^x )). Funimation thought it would be a good idea to replace the original background music with something that sounds like it was stolen from a horror show, which just doesn't fit whats happening.

Also, as Funimation usually does, it replaced the opening and ending sequences/music with its own -- which in my opinion have the most AWFUL music I've ever heard (Can you tell I really like GT and I'm not happy about this?). Not only did they do this, but of course, they changed the eye-catches. You know, those little things that appear before and after an advert? How dare they touch such sacred things!

Finally, the worst thing of all!

Funimation: Say, a lot of people in Japan say that the start of Dragonball GT is the weakest part of the series...hmm...LETS REMOVE IT COMPLETLY!"

Yup, Funimations version of GT starts at episode 17...for people who haven't seen the series, that must be REALLY confusing. Funimation tried to fix the confusion by making a 1 episode recap of everything thats happend. All I can say to that is..."Oh dear."

Funimation claims they will release the 'boring starting episodes', once they've finished releasing the rest of it. I hope they do, cause I'm collecting the DVD's, and I want the WHOLE series, not just what they think is good enough for us! Besides, the first few episodes were the funny, Dragonball style ones...they rocked...

Anyway, I've ranted enough. Have fun kiddies! SEND COMPLAINTS TO FUNIMATION!

Damned fools! I say we sue.

I would agree with that very quickly...but I realize I forgot to mention ONE good thing Funimation did (Since it doesn't concern Cartoon Network). On the DVD's they released you can change the language to Japanese, but when you do so, it also changes the background music, opening and closing themes/video, eyecatches AND 'Previously on DBGT' things back to the original Japaneseness. I swear, if you switch the DVD's into Japanese, its as uncut as my fansubs -- so they're definatly worth getting.

If Funimation makes good on its word and releases the first episodes later, the DVD's will be perfect ^^x

I kinda thought GT sucked in the first place...(puts up barrier of protection) 😀

You're allowed your opinion. Actually, a friend of mine once said...

"Opinions are like asses. Everyone has one, but please don't share it with us."

😀 Seriously though, I like GT because its quite a bit like Dragonball, and I like Dragonball better than Dragonball Z. Also, DBGT has Pan as one of the stars, so I'm VERY biased (I'm the biggest Pan fan you'll ever find, I'm sure).

Well, I didn't totally despise it, but i didn't enjoy it nearly as much as DBZ or DB....I can still see why people are excited about it finally being aired here in America.

ahh ok even i make mistakes. Thanks battousai. Cartoon network is going to cut gt up like a large cheese cake. I like the acting/voices/music better in japanese. Although i cant read japanese. I try to get tapes with sub titles. But the basics they will cut out like blood and cursing and NAMING THE FREAKIN CHARACTERS MOVES!!EX: MASENKO-HA(PICCOLO) OR BIG BANG ATTACK(VEGETA).

The series is ok cause im a big Dragon ball fan. Although i dont like that they place most of the story on goku and leave vegeta looking like a dried up piece of meat loaf. Im a big Vegata fan.

Pan is a cool character. Shes funny and a great fighter. One thing i know there going to ruin is the battle with super baby(this super saiyan virus that fuses with vegeta) and pan. Pan starts crying and says something that i cant understand and she starts shoots beams rapidly. They cant really capture emotional moments in American, as well as they do in Japanese. That's why its kinda boring to watch anime in America.

Some useless characters i think are bra. Bulma and vegeta had a daughter named bra. I guess i typed that out right.

You guys ever seen any of of the broiley movies. I dont know how to spell his name correctly.??😀

'Twin Energy Balls', Pan's signature, and strongest attack. She only usually uses it when she's crying, and as she stated in a previous episode, "Don't you know girls get stronger when they cry?"

Yeah, Bra (Bulla in the Dub...what the Hell is a bulla?) is kinda useless, but Heck, the story can't be about EVERYONE.

Yup, its been Bulla since the end of DBZ...sheesh, if they can say bra on Ed, Edd n Eddy, you'd think they could just say it on Dragonball..

HAHA OH MAN, well i am going to tape gt and see how it is. cant be that bad. I loved the japanese version.

damn batt your a true pan-chan fan.

Do you guys know why everyone says goku cant go level 4 or level 4 is just a rumor. Isnt the transformation state where he gets red fur and black hair and eyes like he smoked a phat sack of weed technically super saiyan level 4?

Also noted thanks to battosia watching those american dvds. The first 16 episodes might be left out so it will appear confusing. IF they do then funimation can BURN IN HELL :sowrong:

Goku and Vegeta both achieve SSJ 4. (Super Sayanjin (or something like that)) And yes, they get furry all over.😀

People say that Super Saiyajin 4 isn't a real transformation, because Akira Toriyama didn't come up with GT, like he did DB and DBZ. In some peoples eyes, that makes GT very unofficial (Not quite as unofficial as the non-existant Dragonball AF). Still, it isn't like Toriyama-san had nothing to do with GT. I hear he had the same role in the GT series as he did in DB and DBZ; he was the consultant. He didn't actually MAKE any of the series', he just created the manga, then was consulted when they made it into an anime.

Now, if you think back, there are lots of things in DBZ that happen in the anime, but not in the manga (The Garlic Jr Saga, most of the Saiyaman Saga -- Heck, even the History of Trunks was different in the manga). Aren't these as unofficial as GT, since Toriyama-san was only consulted about their existance? Thats how I feel about it.

Anyway, as for SSJ4, its usually refered to "Super Goku 4" and "Super Vegeta 4". Even if you do consider it 'real', people are unsure if it is actually a Super Saiyajin level or not, due to the lack of golden hair and other trademarks. Personally, I think SSJ4 is a hybrid, a mix of the power of a Super Saiyajin and an Oozaru (Big Monkey) form. Oozaru are giant, brainless apes -- the only one we've even seen act with a brain is Vegeta...so SSJ4 is probably the most stable Oozaru form possible. Thats what I think, anyway.

...Damn batt...you put me to shame with that explanation...i...dont read...mangas...🙁

but the thing with vegeta. Vegeta achieved super vegeta level 4 from bulma when she invented that machine. Since i guess you seen the whole gt series. You remember that battle with Vegeta where he was in his monkey state form. Bulma had to invent a machine to make him go level 4. So i dont know if its all that natural. AS for goku. Those two kai's and those raccons helped goku grow his tail back.

I liked the end of the gt series where they had to fight the eight dragons of the dragon balls. I didnt get too see where goku and vegeta both fused while in level 4 state. Thats why i am kinda of looking forword to this American release of the gt series. I guess i am just rambling and i forgot the point i was going to make but i just love to talk about anime with you guys!!😀

Thats a shame, the manga's are usually better. Not always (El Hazard is one exception), but usually ^^x

Jeez...

GT has only been on for a week now, and one thing is already CRYSTAL clear:

THIS "ONE EPISODE PER WEEK" CRAP IS GOING TO DRIVE ME UP THE DAMN WALL!!! GRRRRRRRR!!!

I mean, SERIOUSLY. I've seen DBZ episodes which were pretty much comprised of two or three long, angry grunting noises from Vegeta... Broken up only by commercials and sassy one-liners from Frieza. It was ok THEN, because I knew that there would be another episode the next day, and that by the end of the week, a good 5 minutes of the actual fight would have elapsed. NOW, however, I'm going to have to wait a WEEK between episodes to see whether or not Vegeta's (or whoever's) mighty power-up grunting will culminate in an actual ATTACK... or just some more grunting. DAMN IT ALL TO HECK!!!!!!!! 😡

...Sleep deprived? Moi? 😛

imagine if you chatted like that

::stares at hds and asu tickler and then at batt::

so...grrr...hmm..we finally meet at last...nice form...::spends three commercials gathering ki for a small useless attack::hmmm damn you all to hell..::blinks, then blinks again::I..um::has flashbacks of former battle::

On the next episode, Hisdivineshadow blinks and battosai opens his mouth.

Yeah i understand the whole thing. Its will get better asu. They have to build up the action.

Thats something GT lacks, actually. Everything moves along a lot quicker in it -- the only fights that last more than one episode are really important ones, like Bebi Vegeta. This does make the series pretty short though...only 64 episodes (More like 50 once Funimation's done with it).

Actually thats true. the fighters get so powerful that their fights dont last long. I wish they gave us the japanese dvds straight from japan. I hate that edited funimation garbage.
