How often do you dream, and how much do you remember about them the next day?Are they vivid or vauge, and do you attach any importance to them?
I find that i dont dream much, which i hear is considered a sign of low intellgence by some 😉 Or if i do,i dont remember much about them.I also understand that there are different levels of sleep, and dreams occour and are remembered late in the sleep cycle.Correct me if i am wrong on that.I would be intrested to hear what you all think about this.

I remember some, I don't worry about the meanings.
They don't usually seem real.

I dream quite frequently, more often than not, my dreams appear as surreal or abstract with no real literal sense of meaning...which suits me just fine 🙂

o i've had some doozy dreams..the night before last for example...among other weird things that happened in the dream i was with my sister up at our grandmother's house in the country..my uncle was there, but grandma was dead i think...well all of a sudden the cemetery turned into Gettysburg National Park, and my sister and i were walking through and came upon a tombstone in the National Cemetery, and began reading the inscription..well turned out that inscription was some weird curse..and after the farm suddenly appeared again...snakes began emerging from the ground, intent on taking over the world..i remember running helter skelter with my sister..rushing into the house and slamming the door, seeing my uncle wrestling with a hugeeeeee black snake wrapped around his neck..snakes everywhere...we went into the back bedroom and closed the door, trembling with fear, when suddenly i remembered the curse..and because snakes no longer frighten me, i was able to recite the curse backwards, staring right in a cobra's face...and the snakes disappeared, and everything was back to normal..so to speak..

last night i dreamed me and some members of this forum were first in a hotel, then out in a football field, practicing maneuvers..maneuvers for what i'm not sure lol..

and another dream which was a recurring dream had to do with a dream within a dream...we have a burglar alarm..and in the dream, i would wake up to see the lights on the burglar alarm pad going crazy, but no alarm going off, and i would wake up hubby and say someone is in the house..i would always try calling the police, only to have the phone not working...and we could hear them moving around...well within the dream i would wake up, thinking i was really awake..and would be relieved and look at the burglar alarm pad, and see weird lights again..this time i would get up, get david up, i would go downstairs first to see the front door wide open..and always before real danger occurred, i would really wake up..well last time i had this dream, i did what you would do in real life..i pressed the police button on the burglar alarm pad...case solved...so i haven't had that dream since..and maybe now i won't have snakey dreams again either..

I dream all the time, and sometimes several times a night. I often remember my dreams but will forget some over time. Everything depends upon my dream.

Some of my dreams are very real, to the point where I dream about work and can't remember if I did something or not. Others are very odd and obviously not real. I do take some of my dreams very seriously, others I brush off.

Dreams fascinate me, though not enough where I can spend the time doing research. Not enough time to do my paperwork already lol

Yes, I dream a lot, I do remember quite a few too, some really freak me out and I believe I'm awake when in fact I'm dreaming. A couple of occasions that spring to mind are when I dreamed that a huge spider was on a web and coming fast towards my face, I shot out of bed put the light on and even got the hoover out to get rid of it and of course it wasn't there, it was only a dream lol. The other 'bad' occasion was when I dreamed that my Mum had died and I was still living at home at the time and when I awoke I realised that my cheeks were wet and I had been crying in my sleep and when I heard my Mum's voice I was so relieved, that dream was awful as I thought I had lost my Mum.

You need to be careful what you eat before you go to bed!!! lol...

Sometimes I have really really vivid dreams, where I think I can actually feel someone touching me or where I feel like I"m cold or hot.. I wake up wondering if I was dreaming.. Some of those have been super super hot dreams... I wake up panting and sweating... but those are always the best.. Most of the time its just hazy weird stuff like everyone else...like you're back at high school, but you are the age that you are now... and can't remember your locker combo, no matter how hard you try... 😀

i have pretty crazy dreams most nights, and i seem to remember most of them, whether or not i want to...... :bat: :bat: :bat:

A couple of mine.
Back ground on this one - When I was in HS there was this guy and his friend who were going to prison for killing his own mother. They went to my HS at the time. We were all about 16.

So in my dream of this -I was at my aunt's house, standing at the staircase looking up, looking for John, and my aunt said - "John cannot go anywhere, he did something really bad and is grounded for a long time..."
I had this dream after the real life incident, so it was not a preminission. MY aunt's house is a little creepy as it is.

I have had many dreams of my old job, but in them, the place is barely lighted and there is almost nothing inside the place.

One of them tho - It was storming like hell, power failing, and the roof caved in, snow and water was spilling all over everything including all the electronics, and while I was kind of freaking out, my boss was saying - "Well we will just work around it best we can, go ahead and get the groceries put away..." With the indifference of someone scratching their own ass.

Funny how in dreams, the dreamer is the only one who sees the danger.

The town I grew up in was a prime target of the USSR in a nuclear strike. That fact led to many unpleasant dreams.

I dream frequently, more often than not, but remember only fragments and bits of the dream most of the time.

When I do remember the details of a dream, it's usually a very obvious erotic plot, like being tickled senseless by Margo Dydek.

Thanks for all your stories peeps.Izzy, you do have some vivid dreams alright. And hey,i got Mil's to post in general discussion,a rare occurence indeed.😀

i also have some CRAZY dreams sometimes, but other times i will have really nice dreams that arent entirely out of the realm of possibility.. like sometimes i will see someone in my dream that i havent seen in a long time (there are two people who frequent my dreams, always), and itll be just like it was if i actually saw her.. and nothing crazy will happen really.. but like, if she touches my arm, i feel her hand on my arm.. everything i touch, i feel.. its like an alternate reality.. and then other times, the dreams are so incredibly ridiculous that i will see something and almost FEEL my body waking up from reacting to what i was seeing.. for example, a few weeks ago in my dream i saw a storm system and cloud formations that i have NEVER seen before, as well as some really strangely shaped 30 ft geysers in the middle of the ocean.. and when i saw that, i almost woke up.. i felt my body jerk like WHOA.. but then i continued dreaming.. sometimes i put some meaning on what i dream (and it has been justified a few times), sometimes i dismiss it as nonsense.. but its weird.. as long as i can remember, i dont think ive ever had a nightmare.. ever

By and large, my dreams are strikingly ordinary. Almost replications of real life with occasional quirks of weirdness that let me in on the fact that they're dreams... Sometimes it's a strange interaction or an architectural hiccup in a familiar building.

Okay. I just had to add this -- when I saw this thread again I was reminded of the dream I tried hard to remember last night...

I was just coming back from a park and some variety of concert (it bore a resemblance to a local park that has an annual "Fiddle Fest"), to the house where I've been living in recurring dreams (often, my dreams carry out a continuous story like a second life, and I'll find myself visiting the same places). It vaguely reminds me of a real little house in the park where I think a groundskeeper must live, only in the dream it has two storeys, and the first floor has large glass doors on both sides. My dream landlord and his wife live on the first floor (apparently, I can't even escape rent there!).

Anyway, I was coming "home" and I saw a light down in the first floor, and as I was walking by, looked inside, and saw the people inside weren't familiar -- they weren't my landlords (mind you, thinking about it now, I have no idea what my dream landlords look like -- I just knew that these weren't them...).

They saw me and bolted. "Intruders!" I thought, and gave chase. They tried to escape to a nearby open-top Jeep-like vehicle and before they could jump in, I tackled the guy -- short, light brown hair with glasses, fair skin, tall and gangly. His girlfriend reached into the vehicle for something and from out of nowhere (I kid you not), Alchemy, hair tied back in a ponytail, dressed all in black, sweeps in and stops her, grabbing her by the arm.

At this point, I awoke.

So, strangely, the first TMF member I've ever dreamt of was... ...Alchemy. :blaugh:

That, I wouldn't have expected. But nonetheless, thanks, Alchemy, for saving my ass -- I don't know what she had in that Jeep, but it couldn't have been good... 🙂

I have heard of people who have *serial* dreams if that would be the correct term, never experienced it myself.I have,on occasion woke up while dreaming, gone back to sleep and picked up where i left off,but only a few times that i can remember.I wonder how common that is.

I have a lot of serial dreams, it seems... It wasn't always that way, though. When I was a kid, they were much more self-contained and singular.

BTW,i like your new sig man.It brings to mind...van Gogh perhaps,or someone i should recognize.I hope you dont plan to slice off any body parts though.😉

Egads! Let's hope not! It's just me, but thanks! :xpulcy:

i had a dream the other night that played out like a bad movie of the week, complete with me walking on the beach, reflecting on the past...and then flashbacks to that past...yuck...and it involved a wild frat party, complete with..well nevermind, my dreams are too vivid as it is..no need to describe, you all get the picture..

I can recall at least one dream every night. Maybe I won't remember them forever, but I'll at least be able to mention a few details about it the morning after I have it. I've been known to remember 3-4 dreams a night, though- mostly when I go through a "write your dreams down in a journal" phase, which I'm prone to do. : D

I love my dreams. They're bizarre and make me go "😵 Uh, WTH?" in the mornings, and I absolutely adore them for that. Anyone else ever have dreams that are entirely musicals before? How about in subtitles? Or where you're simultaneously reading a book of what's happening in the dream and seeing a picture of it at the same time, and if a character decides to go against whatever's in the book, that action gets crossed out?
