Can you explain why the "top" 6 folks in the friend's list always changes around? There's some pattern there, but I haven't been able to pinpoint it yet and it's driving me nuts.

There is a pattern? I thought it was just random. myself. A random number generator in a computer is not really random, though. There is a pattern there, with the pattern becoming increasingly noticeable as the random number generator's quality decreases. We could very well just have a poor-quality generator. But, as far as I am aware, there is no pattern built in. Not that I'd know, since I refuse to use the feature. 😀

I think the generator idea is bunk. Because, before there was a selection to be able to see who viewed your profile last (They had/have it at TT and we turned it off when the profile's were kick-started). So that is what's making me think there's got to be some pattern.

That box wasn't anything more than a recorder of impressions on your profile. As far as I was aware it has nothing to do with the friends list order. We could check at the TT but I really don't see why it would be written that way. 😀 Human beings are good at making patters out of nothing. You may just be seeing something that truly does not exist. Like Jesus in the breakfast foods.

No, I'm sorry. It's actually DSL.
It also seems to me as if it is the same people that keep cycling through. Maybe by those who leave VM more often. Either way, the reason for the cycle is that the Friends List is supposed to be like that of Myspace in that it is a way to get friends of friends to possibly meet. Therefore, cycling through the friends list is just a way of "spotlighting" new people for others to possibly meet, versus, these are the 6-9 people I like best sort of thing.

But, yes. I just figured there was some sort of order or whatever based on either view or some other reason. 🙂
