To all of you that have visited www.DungeonMaidens.com with a 56k connection and been disgusted to the point of leaving because of the slow download speed I want to say...I am sorry.
I am a businessman, turned film producer and in no way a webmaster. Thus, I am at the mercy of someone else’s knowledge when it comes to building a website.
With the replacement of my last webmaster and the hiring of a new one it has been shown me how intolerably slow our download speeds were, in fact a few of Micah’s photos were as large as 750kb each (28sec download for one picture). I had no idea... You see both of my office connections are broadband and although my studio connection is 56k I basically only get the email there, so what I was seeing at the office was seemingly fast (with broadband).
So, I want to announce to everyone that we are undergoing a complete facelift. My new webmaster calls it an optimization. You as the viewer will NOT notice the difference as far as the looks of the site, except now 56k users will get the fastest download speeds possible with that connection.
Again, I want to apologize for my ignorance in letting this occur. Please be patient with us as we replace each page and picture with an optimized version. There will be no interruption of service. The downloadable video files were not affected by this problem, they have always been in correct .rm (realmedia) format, only the webpages and still pictures were in need of revision. The only thing you will notice as we reconfigure everything is the download speed improving.
It's a wonder to me that we have all the members we do in spite of this problem. I remember in my pre-broadband days I would have quickly left a site that loaded as slowly as ours did. I can just imagine how many new visitors did just that.
On another note...I just filmed a new movie that’s gonna blow you away; it travels down a slightly different path. I think you're going to like it (I think some of you have been expecting and waiting for it). It should be on the site by next week.
