You know I can't stand the media anymore cause as a huge Egles fan I tried of always being ripped by the media. This week Donovan comes to Philly and all the writers who don't want to watch a game or do any work just write how were going to be the same old Philly fans and boo him, For all you jock strap out there who hear one or sound bits a week from here and think you know more then us FUCKKKK YOUUUU. Ok we already voted McNabb as the greatest QB in philly history you don't hear all the interviews with local sportscasters after the OT comments in Cincinnati how he pushed the blame around all week never once saying I messed up, or if we lose 1 week how he sucked that week. This is the stuff you never hear outside of philly but you sit there in you town and post judgement on us here, now with that mentioned yes back in the day there were sections of the old Vet up in the 700 level that would be shit faced before entering the gates to watch a game and yes they BOO'd Santa Clause and MOO'd the heavy set women who got married at half time now as a huge Eagles fan that likes to have a malted beverage or 2 during a game I can still say more then MOO and BOO during a game and it piss's me off that I'm lumpped in with a handful of drunks. Were is the media after the same PHILLY FANS gave Bobby Cox a 3 minute standing ovation. Where was the media when we cheer after a player hurt is helped off the field and they do cause I can only afford maybe 3 games a year tops but they once cheer'd Micheal Irwin when hurt. Now back to McNabb who watched week in and week out to watch McNabb throw 6 balls in a row at the feet of his recievers or 5 feet over there head, no you want to bring up 4th and 26 with the Packers. Now we here in Philly also had this guy my the name of Brian Westbrook who made a career of taking that west coast offense 5 yard throw and making it a 60 yard gain and giving McNabb that 300 yard game. Now some of you may know that Westbrook was also cut before McNabb this year but we hear nothing of that because we hear that philly is rebuilding but McNabb is traded and this all starts. Now I really feel that if McNabb was white this would of made headlines for a day or so like Westbrook did but the media can sit there on there high horse and be PC and talk bad about the philly fan but what I don't hear is how most of philly is behind Vick over Kolb now and loving the way Vick is moving our team up and down the field but I'm sure if it was the other way around and Kolb the white guy started over Vick the media would jump on that like fly's on shit and talk down the philly fan. Why can't the media just keep talking up NY and leave us the hell alone. In closing yes I'll tip my hat to McNabb as he enters the field but on him 1st snap hope he gets that helmet knocked off his head as I do week in and week out drinking my beers but just remember this after the game I'll be able to get out more then MOO and BOO. TO THE MEDIA KISS MY GREEN ASS.

The media in general wants ratings. They want people to read their stories and tune in long enough to see what they're saying. And the easiest way to do that is by opinion and so-called analysis, especially when it's controversial or plays off commonly held stereotypes.

Here's one way they accomplish their goal:
http://www.cracked.com/article_18458_6-subtle-ways-news-media-disguises-bullshit-as-fact.html

But that doesn't mean the media hates Philadelphia. If you watch ESPN, you'd hardly know that the Eagles and Phillies play in the same city. But the Phillies are setting themselves up as this all-time juggernaut and the media loves to follow historic dynasties in detail. So they tend to get a pass and any fan antics tend to be swept under the rug a little. Unless something egregious happens.

There are plenty of actual analysts who just want to break down matchups, look at trends and make reasonable predictions based on them. Tony Dungy, Ron Jaworski and Tom Jackson do a very good job at it. But you can't listen too much to the Fox and CBS pregames and the jerks on NFL Network, because they fall into that media trap of hyperbole and bias that I loathe. At least Mike and Mike on ESPN Radio, as an example, admit to just giving an opinion. But the rest disguise opinion as fact to the best of their ability.

When all is said and done, they don't care if that opinion twists the truth to portray Eagles fans as boorish and nasty or Jets fans as Jersey shore-type doucebags or Dolphins fans as fair-weather South Beach jerkoffs.

Ultimately, fans will have to be the ones to treat each other with class and respect, even when it's a rival. Because the media just doesn't give a damn about reporting the whole truth and presenting both sides of an argument. Not about sports, not about politics, not about the economy.

Maybe if Philly fans wouldnt cheer like they just won a championship when a guy is almost paralized and throw batteries at fans who wear different jerseys, then maybe, not you in general, they'd lose the bad rep.

That's the NFL and Fox hey they know the tail gating starts at 8:00 AM being a 1:00 or 4:00 game but they still want to most of the time put the Eagles on as the second game of a double header. Now with the new stadium alot of that stuff has stopped since the low lifes who do that couldn't afford the personnal seat license and the new higher price of tickets but yes even in the new stadium they put aside a little room for the court room and jail. And tequila that was a Phils game not a Eagles game and that kid was throwed out and climbed a fence to get back in and had his picture on the front page of the newspapers here and to this day I don't think that guy has shown his face yet.

Standing ovation for McNabb. The media seemed to appreciate the class.

Interesting that McNabb was so on-target in the first half and really off in the second.

I never understood that. Don't the batteries trigger the metal detectors like they do at the Raider games?

No we don't have metal detectors just a jail and court room and for you guys that don't read to well the Phillies were the batteries not Eagles
