I'm thinking I'd stay. I mean, sure this world is f*cked up, but it has still has lots of places that hold very special memories for me. I think I'd only go if all the crime, poverty, and environmental disasters got exponentially worse than they are now...or if the Earth was going to a'splode. 😵

In order for us to ever reach the point where this would be remotely possible, we would have had to overcome our differences and put an end to war and shared resources working together to make it happen. Therefor the earth as we know it now would have already changed for the better, so no, I would stay here on terra firma and let the more adventurous take the journey into the unknwn....

Ah, my idealistic friend, it would never be like that...the US could build everything necessary to colonize another planet next year if they diverted enough of their budget...

The US would send it's own mission into space, to compete with the Chinese and maybe the Russian mission...it would be a race among the superpowers to see who could get there first. Wouldn't that be awesome? A Cold War in space! 😀

I have always been fascinated in space (surprise, surprise) and I wanted to be an astronaut when I was a kid, because I thought it would be like Star Trek. Then I realized that all astronauts do is float around and poop in a baggie.

Exactly why such a colony could never exist. Not until the earth pulls itself together, feeds each other, heals the sick, and works together as the human race....so like I said...ain't going anywhere....
