Eleptoclypse (PC game, (/m) /F, some nudity)

Made a little patch, including some of these things requested above.
See first post for the patch. It is a new version of the executable, and a text file containing information on what has been added and what has changed.

Responding to the person above:

* Bug fix: Program crashes if a fight lasts too long. Possibly triggered by discarding all the cards left in the deck? This has happened to me several times, and i assume my stake card was lost.

-> cause still unknown. Reshuffling seems to work (if I force the counters to go up far enough that the game wants to shuffle). Something strange apparently happens but I don't yet know what. I added some error catching to critical areas, maybe that at least helps against the crashes caused by this.

* Bug fix: Enemy image remains on screen if player is attacked while exiting cave. Requires restart? (Didn't try initiating a new fight, though.)

-> Opponents should not appear when trying to exit the cave. Bug has been fixed: Opponents no longer appear at the cave entrance location now.

* Feature: Mapping the forward/left/right buttons to the W/A/D keyboard buttons. Would make cave navigation more intuitive.

-> Not easy to add this for Eleptoclypse, the fact that there's buttons on the screen are making catching keypresses a bit tricky.

* Feature: While choosing a stake card, a view of all the opponent's cards at once (small + zoom) for easier selection.

-> Done.

* Feature: While choosing a stake card, a number indicating how many of each card you already possess (deck and reserve combined).

-> Done.

* Most Wanted Feature!: An ini variable to control card animation speed.

-> Done. In the ini file, add a line 'Speedmultiplier=2' to the 'settings' section. (it takes a value from 1 (default) to 5 (real fast)). Note that it also affects the amount of time the opponent's played card (enlarged) is shown, so putting the value high you might miss it.

Wow! An immediate patch goes far and beyond what i expected when posting that wish list. Absolutely fantastic, Ilo -- I really appreciate what you're doing here.

I'll be sending a PM your way in a few minutes 🙂

Thanks again! I'll be trying the patched version this weekend.

I've just gotten to Floor 5, and I actually didn't know about the two halves aspect until you mentioned it above. That should hopefully allow me to power up some more before I fight the Tickle Queen, she's been tough so far. But a fantastic game all around, great job with everything!

The Tickle Queen is level 7. She's on floor 5 so you're level 5 yourself when you are there. However, winning enough fights from the Princess in the pub and the princesses or vampires on floor 5 (or princes if you're playing /m) then you can reach level 6, which is advisable because the Queen is of course playing a level 7 deck in addition to her level. So she's a little tougher, but being level 6 helps.

And yes, the card Eleptoclypse can be found on the East side of floor 5, the Queen and path to level 6 are on the West side.

Eleptoclypse PATCH 1.2

Two changes in this patch:

* The game should no longer crash if you beat a level 10 opponent, and show the correct artwork for it.

* The card "Escape!" had its cost reduced from 15 to 5, making it a lot easier to use in case of great need.

This patch also contains the content that is included in patch 1.1 so if you didn't download that one, you can skip it and install 1.2 right away.

Means of installation: Unzip the file EC-patch1.2.zip into the folder "C:/Program files" (or the custom directory in which you have placed the folder 'Eleptoclypse' containing the game).

Alternatively, if your game folder name is not called "Eleptoclypse" (i.e. you renamed it) then you can manually overwrite the executable and the .ipc file in the /data folder).

NOTE: I attached the patch zip file in the first post of this topic.
