Embarrassing ticklish spots

My wife is very ticklish. She likes to act tough and in control so she doesn’t like talking about how ticklish she is.

When I tickle her I usually go for her most ticklish areas—underarms, ribs, feet, hip bones, etc. Sometimes I will go for her ears. Her ears are not as ticklish as other areas but ticklish enough to get her laughing.

What I think is about funny about tickling her ears is that my wife gets embarrassed that she is ticklish there.

She isn’t really embarrassed about being ticklish in other areas. I assume because underarms, feet, ribs are well known ticklish spots on many people. Also, I’m really ticklish on those areas as well. However she gets embarrassed, in a cute way, about that fact that her ears are ticklish.

Actually, and I don't think I've really put much thought into this until now, I am a little shy or embarrassed about my neck and ears being ticklish. I mean, I'm that way about being ticklish in general, but around ticklephiles I'm less so, except for a few places like the neck and ears. I'm not exactly sure why that is, but I think it has something to do with a greater sense of feeling out of control or something. I'll have to think on that.
