Wow! Almost 10 messages back and forth before this one asked for a nude, almost a tinder record! I cant believe I had redownloaded tinder, was i really that desperate for a date to Andrea's wedding next month? After my usual +1, Mark, became recently engaged, i needed to find a new Mark.
Honestly, these gross tinder convos that go nowhere was probably better than the last few dates i had been on. Spend hours getting ready for details my date wouldnt notice then listen to him ramble pointless stories with no questions for me...then as a reward get pressured into 'continuing the evening'. No thanks!
My last chance for a date this weekend just blew it, block! Oh well, it was friday evening. I sat down on the couch amd scrolled for a new series to binge. Since it was looking like my saturday will also be spent on the couch i looked for a long series. Then my phone vibrated...
It was a text from an area code i didn't recognize. 'Emily?'
Normally i wouldmt answer but i was bored.
'This is she'
'This is she? Wow, how proper of a response lol. This is Tracy! Hi!''
'Tracy, like bartender tracy?'
'This is she' (ok shes witty)
'Well hi there, howd you get my cell?'
'I found the waiver you signed in a file cabinet. You seemed like someone i wanted to get to know better!'
(Ok that is really flatterig the kind of trouble she went to)
'Tracy, you seem really fun, but i think youre barking up the wrong tree 🙁 '
'Woahhhh, i just was looking for a fun friend!'
(I did not buy this, but again, i was home alone on a friday)
'Oh ok! Sure! In that case whats going on?'
What followed was the most amazing text convo ive ever had. She was funny, smart, ask questions about me. We talked about anything and everything. Time flew, next thing i knew it was midnight!!
'Omg i better let you go, do you need to work tomorrow '
'Nope cidni has a 1 on 1, im off. Heyyy why dont you come down to nashville? We'll have dinner. No need to spend saturday alone!'
In my mind i was torn, if she thinks this is a date i shouldn't lead her on. But she herself said she just wants a friend. I typed a response and debated a while then sent it..
'Id love too, where and when?'
We finalized the details, it was a bit of an upscale restaurant but i was excited, i got to dress up instead of sit on the couch saturday now!
Besides, a 'date' with a cute female bartender whos funny and smart she beats some of the dates ive been on lately with guys!
I have two promises for part 2....
1. It will come very soon
