Alrighty, so here's my question, who is your favorite Transformer from the G1 show. G1=show in the 80's for those that have no idea at all.

My personal: Jazz. He was Optimus' right-hand man and waaaaaaaaaay more popular than that hack Bumblebee would ever be...until now days of course. Also, he easily adapted to human culture and was voiced by none other than the late, great, Scatman Crothers. Though, not only that...was it just me or did Jazz's "eyes" look like they were sunglasses...well, they did...and that's just cool.

I grew up with these guys, so it is hard to just pick one. My favorite when I was a kid thou was Bluestreak. I was the only one in the neighborhood who had him (and I still have him), so that was a cool thing. I loved how his car doors were wings in robot mode (yes, I had Prowl and Jazz too).

My favorite Dinobot was Slag. I had (and still have) his figure. A triceratops, in and of itself, is pretty cool...one that turns into a robot is even better! Also, Slag was the sociopath of the Dinobots, which I always thought was cool.

My favorite Decepticon was Starscream. I always liked the cowardly villains. Besides, he shared the same voice as Cobra Commander, so that can't be all bad!

Starscream all the way. He was such a complete schemer and prick to Megatron. I loved how he kept plotting to try to take over leadership of the Decepticons all the time. He made the show all the better.

Aside from obvious favorites : Optimus Prime , Megatron , & Starscream ... I always kinda dug Ironhide.

Ratchet is pretty cool 😀! But Ironhide kicks total ass 😀!

I really liked scorponok

And Grimlock

Until Megatron shot him right in the friggin' face with his fusion cannon!

No more Ironhide.

Agreed, I think for the movie they really played up Iron Hide being this tough ass and really played down Jazz. I think for the most part though Ratchet and Prime where characterized pretty well. Though, let's not forget when Starscream took Galvatron's cannon in the face!

Yeah ... I always thought it was a little weird that , in the movie , the Transformers couldn't take hits that , in the show , they'd bounce right back from ( not that getting shot in the face from Megatron's fusion cannon is necessarily something one easily bounces back from 😉 ).

I always just theorized that since the Decepticons won the Great War in the control over Cybertron , that they were then relatively stronger at that point & the Autobots were "weaker" by comparison ( less access to energon & what not ) , leaving the 'Bots less able to overcome extensive damage. Hence , the many deaths of the show's various mainstays at the beginning of The Transformers : The Movie.

Still , though ... the Decepticons were dropping like flies , too , during the attack on Autobot City , so I guess that theory doesn't hold much water.

The Decepticons may have taken control of Cybertron by the far off future of 2005, but the Autobots had a firm hold on Earth. I always figured the Autobots pulled a strategic withdrawl from Cybertron and just sort of "gave" it to the Decepticons. While drastic, at least it would keep all the bad guys in one place.

Maybe I think too much on cartoon warfare.

Classic moments from the REAL Transformers movie!

Actually, that's what irked me about the Autobots when I was reading the comics. They always seemed to lose or have to fall back.

I also got annoyed that Optimus Prime died in just about every other issue defending his fellow Autobots/Humans/A field of Buttercups against the encroaching Decepticons for no really good reason whatsoever.

Remember the issue when he sacrificed his life over a damned video game?

ME LIKES GRIMLOCK!GRIMLOCK KING!

Aside from that little rant,it's a shame the series ended after "The Rebirth"!I would have loved to have seen a fourth season, with The Pretenders and the return of Unicron, though the Japanese did continue the G1 story, however they ignored "The Rebirth" episodes and went in a new direction!!!
