Equality In The Tickle Community

I like to think we have a pretty inclusive community here. Lots of different people, all walks of life, races, sexes, sexualities, etc. We're good at being tolerant. However, as recent events have proven, our views are not necessarily shared, both in our normal, day to day interactions, and even on other tickle forums. We had a trans member make a thread about doing videos a while back, and they were universally praised and encouraged not to be afraid to do it. On most other forums, as anyone familiar with "Internet Culture" will be aware, that would never happen. So, I just kind of wanted to thank all you guys for being cool. I'm not gay or trans, but it's just cool to see people being tolerant and decent for once.

I've noticed a lot of negativity in the tickle community lately, particularly towards transexuals and m/m (or */m in general), so instead of making a big whiny post just to get trolled and ridiculed, I'm trying to do the positive thing and make a thread here trying to provide a safe space, instead of starting another pointless argument. So, I don't mean to speak for everyone, and if you don't agree, that's alright, but if you want to provide support for the people in our community being bullied for their preferences, please, make a quick post. Theater is awesome, so let's show it.

Though making a post here to show one's support is kind and effective, the real power of showing the awesomeness of TT's community is in our everyday interactions with one-another. Posts here aside, just take a look around and try to count all those members who qualify as such - I bet you the world that you wouldn't be able to count them all. :super_hap

I'd like to think that the whole of the Theater is a safe place to express yourself! At least it should be - and if ever if doesn't feel that way, to the point of feeling threatened, then we wouldn't be doing our jobs right!

Might not be my preference but doesnt mean it's wrong or anything. Different strokes for different folks. As long as it's two consenting adults, do what makes you happy.

I totally agree with both Knicks and Dalek on this matter. I would think we should all be more understanding because having a fetish sometimes makes us feel like outsiders. To come together and encourage each other is a big step and we should continue to help each other instead of bringing people down cuz of there preference or lack of experience.

Kudos to you, knicks255, for posting this. I'm a bisexual female who is happily married to a man. Of course my husband knows I find both genders attractive, but also understands that just as a straight person doesn't fall in love and desire a monogamous relationship with every person of the opposite sex, I too fell in love and desired a monogamous relationship was what I wanted - it just happened that the soul I fell in love with was in a man 's body. With the amount of hate out there aimed at LGBT people, we donate and march in behalf if human rights for all people, but being in the Bible Belt, hide my orientation at this time. So it is a wonderful thing to feel free and safe being completely open here and means a great desk to all who help it to be do via their actions. Love you all!

Thanks for responding, guys. That's really cool of you. I've noticed overwhelmingly positive feedback towards people on this forum, which is seriously a crazy hard thing to find online. We have excellent administrators and staff, and a lot of support is coming out from nearly all of our members, not just for minorities, LGBT rights, etc., but just for humanity in general, which is super refreshing.

I always feel a little better after visiting here, which is something I hold extra dear right now, due to some personal events that are making life difficult. And I think one big reason for that is how accepting we are here. So yeah, for what it's worth, Theater's acceptance of these people makes this straight white guy proud 😛

Being almost completely ignorant of the relationship details outside of strictly "male" and "female", as we're all human beings, I want everyone to be treated like the humans they are, and given the same freedoms (and frustrations 😉) offered to anyone who fits within society's "cookie-cutter" options, regardless of where they lie.
As for */m, m/m my mentality's the more the merrier! :super_hap

Yesterday, came across an interesting (positive) video, showing an experiment in breaking walls people have in society. Think it has to do with this thread's topic and, wanted to share. (Also a great website for making your head flip on its side, informing you of new things while making you question.)

I will say for me it doesnt get any safer for this fetish than TT. I would be lost in life without this place. And TT wouldnt be here if it weren't for all individuals on it - regardless of what they like!

Right now I've just gotten back from a long car trip after an even longer, somewhat stressful visit to family, so coming back here made me feel this way in general--be aware I'm very tired right now and am prone to ramble when I'm tired 😛

I fricking love you guys, and this is why. I've gone through a -lot- since I joined this community, from coming out about my bisexuality, my disability, and changing from being a 'ler to being a switch--down to personal issues with family, friends, and other issues not related to the fetish world. I feel like I can come here with anything--my 'real' friends are ones I've never met.

Heck, I met my husband here 😛

As for the LGBT issue, some of my best/oldest friends-one in particular, though I won't draw attention to her name here-was part of that community, and when she told me her story I was, and still am, honored to be trusted. As someone who cannot, and never could, walk, I understand what it's like to be ostracized. This place feels safe, and I pray it stays that way--I'll sure do my part to keep it that way.

I love this place. Thanks to this community I did what I never thought possible.... stepped out of my comfort zone and met fellow tickle enthusiasts. Even travelled across the big pond to do so.
I've lost count of the number of times I've stayed up and heard the dawn chorus coz I've been having way too much fun chatting to people from here. The beauty is that not all conversations are dominated by tickling so you really do feel like you are just chatting to another mate.

Beautifully said, Karen! Just a zillion more reasons to love you! :flowers:

As someone who is a member of the LGBTQI community (more and more letters keep getting added, I think we should call ourselves the Alphabet Crew :lol) I have to say I don't think I've ever seen anyone targeted for their orientation here, and I have never had a bad experience here.

I haven't been in any 'game' threads (Ticklefight thread) but I used to be very involved there, and at the time there were a number of straight guys who told me they had no problem with me 'targeting' them in the thread. Other guys who didn't appreciate that, I left alone.

I will say that I do laugh when I see guys (it's always guys) complaining about threads that are M/M but they're not marked M/M. If I had a dollar every time I've gone into a thread that wasn't marked and it was M/F, I'd be a rich man, but why complain. Just move on to the next thread.

Yeah you were awesome in the tickle fight thread tormenting Wade.... Ah those were the days. :lol

My thoughts exactly. Something so small just move on. 🙂

I personally promote equality by being mean to everyone in equal measure.

:lol I'm not biased; I'm a jerk to everyone! XD

Find it - odd - and, sadly, terribly refreshing to see such openness and optimism about those 'perceived' to not 'fit in the norm,' here.

As we're all 'odd' to begin with, being on such a site as this, it's glad to see that the understanding goes beyond.

'Alphabet Crew' (as dweller put it), ROCK ON!

Alright, I'll bite - What do the newer letters (the Q & I) stand for?

we shouldn't hate when we are are from simlars trees that grow in this forest of fetishes. why should we be mean to folks?

I miss Wade! He was fun in the tickle fight thread, always open to being a target for me.

Me too. Wade was always open to being a target to anyone he certainly didn't discriminate especially when it came to tickling. :lol

I'm sure most people know the first four, but just to make it complete....

LGBTQI = Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender/Transexual, Queer, Intersex.

"Queer" seems to be catch-all for other orientations that don't fit the first 4 letters....Asexual, pansexual (not limited in sexual choice with regard to biological sex, gender, or gender identity), polyamorous (the practice, desire, or acceptance of having more than one intimate relationship at a time with the knowledge and consent of everyone involved).

“Intersex” is a general term used for a variety of conditions in which a person is born with a reproductive or sexual anatomy that doesn’t seem to fit the typical definitions of female or male. For example, a person might be born appearing to be female on the outside, but having mostly male-typical anatomy on the inside. Or a person may be born with genitals that seem to be in-between the usual male and female types—for example, a girl may be born with a noticeably large clitoris, or lacking a vaginal opening, or a boy may be born with a notably small penis, or with a scrotum that is divided so that it has formed more like labia. Or a person may be born with mosaic genetics, so that some of her cells have XX chromosomes and some of them have XY.

I don't understand how this is a community?

We all visit here because we have a tickle fetish or foot fetish and very often any number of fetish interests.

Its nice to be able to discuss these topics and not suffer bias or prejudice, in other words live and let live.

Must be one of the sites main attributes, and the site is made up of people all with a common bond or interest, long may it remain so.
