Did anyone happen to hear about or see New York City Fox anchor Ernie Anastos' on air slip up this past week? Apparently, during the evening news, Fox station WNYW was doing a story about chickens, and when Anastos referred to the story, he apparently meant to say "Keep Plucking That Chicken". Anastos, instead of his intended word of "Plucking", said "Keep Fucking That Chicken". The video of Anastos' on air faux pax is all over the internet. He apologized on the air the following night to anyone he may have offended. However, in spite of Anastos' apology, I just read that Fox is still considering whether to fire him.

I say that Anastos apology should be accepted, and the network should move on. It doesnt seem right that a guy should lose his job, because of a one word mistake, that he apologized for. It isn't like he intentionally cursed on the air.

Thoughts on this? Also, if anyone could post a link to Anastos comment, it would be appreciated.

They'll probably accept it. Obviously, I found it pretty funny, but yeah... Anastos is pretty well established.

He seems like a nice guy, although maybe a bit goofy at times... lol

Thanks for posting the video, Macphisto. I hope they do accept his apology. It was actually pretty funny the way Anastos said it, as long as it doesnt cost him his job.

I'd certainly hope it doesn't cost him his job. It was a simple slip of the lip, albeit a very unfortunate one.

I agree that it shouldn't cost him his job. Seems like much ado over nothing, really.

This guy has been on just about every local news channel in the New York City area. You cant walk into a Greek eatery in New York without seeing an older than dirt autographed photo of him. He is so well loved in this city that if he does lose his gig someone else will hire him.

I lol'd, but everyone slips up from time to time.
If he does get fired, all it shows is that some people are far too sensitive to "naughty" words.

That was the weatherman that he told to "keep fucking that chicken". Weathermen can take some abuse I guess...
