Here's a question...

Have any of you tickled someone and while tickling you just got so caught up you weren't even "aware" of the lee?
I mean sooo focused on tickling that you didn't "realize" the effect you are/were having on the lee...whether the lee was "willing" or not.

This kind of happened to me at the NYST gathering the other week...I was so focused on tickling a lee's foot that I just kept tickling...just pulling the laughter out of her...then I only realized what I was "Doing" when I heard my name called out!!
:wow: :wow:
Then I "woke up" and stopped tickling...

Just wondering..

While I do agree that getting "lost" does have a certain appeal, it probably isn't good in terms of a /ler-/lee relationship. Getting too distracted means possibly missing warning signs one should always be aware of.

lost, yes, lost....very easy to do when you love it so much! I get lost but never need directions!

Does euphoria count as getting lost? 🙂

To answer the question though, I don't think I've ever been "lost" as you described, because I'm sorta phobic about doing something the lee doesn't care for. I've definitely been transported and transfixed.

I am just in all my glory as a tickler...feeling of power and freedom

Well, one time I made a right at Albequerque when I should have made a left, and wound up smack dab in the middle of Yeti country....

Um, there's a chance that was actually a Bugs Bunny cartoon.

AH yes TOMMY, I know what you mean, I get lost all the time and I don't care if I am ever found! love Patti

never really lost as there is always attention focused on the lee's reactions

Definitely!

I do get lost all the time........totally engulfed in the tickling but I am never blinded or without direction. Since I am a Gemini, the other me watches over my lee and lets me know when to turn around and come back!😛 😉

Not So Much

When I was a kid, man I was merciless! And yes, I often lost myself to the tickling no matter how much the victim begged and pleaded. Of course, they usually got me back, but that was the point, wasn't it? 😛

Now, I am one of the ones who feels it's important to stay in tuned with the feelings of the lee. I'm still in this exploring stage. I don't know if ticklers ever come out of that stage. Do you?

I want to know where his worst spots are, oh where every spot is. Who am I kidding? I want to see each reaction and I want to know exactly what I am doing to make him go out of his mind.

I'd rather not get lost to it all. I love to hear the begging, the uncontrollable laughter. I want to capture and file to memory each look on his face... Oh including my favorite look of all, the look of panic when he realizes that I've found this super ticklish spot that even HE didn't realize existed. Mmmm.... Oh how I adore that look. Would you really want to miss it? Would you want to miss how that frantic look in a half a second dissolves into frantic laughter?

I fear I would miss all of that if I lost myself purely into the tickling. I love to see that I am getting to my victim... Heehehee... :evillaugh:

Sigh.... Tickling is so much fun!

Not as of yet... but I think I've come at it from another direction.

You see, though I am mostly a pianist, I am also very much into drumming and all things rhythmic. I also fiddle alot. This means that if I have my attention somewhere else, I'll quite often find that my fingers have been incessantly drumming on something or been mutilating some object (like a napkin, paper cup, or unfortunately my ex-leather watch band).

This has actually resulted in a few (not many yet) occasions where I have suddenly realised that I've been tapping on a girls foot for the past few minutes or something. As with one of the stories I mentioned before, I had our german exchange student lounging around with her feet on my lap as we were watching T.V. Now the conscious thing to have done would have been to start tickling her feet, but I wasn't going to do that because she hadn't been in our house for very long. But as it was, at some point during our watching of the TV, some sort of music that I reconised or had a good rhythm must've came up and started my fingers drumming on her feet.... if it wasn't that, perhaps I started running through a few rhythms in my head. Eitherway, it wasn't until her feet twitched (perhaps I had ended up tickling the tops of her feet or something) that I actually realised what I was doing and stopped... temporarily.... cause she said she didn't mind at all........ actually, she made it very clear that she "didn't mind it at all" and from then on I made more concious efforts.

I've never become lost as a tickler. As others have noted here I think that could be a danger to the ticklee, so it's probably not a good thing to do.

I certainly do become lost in the sensation of being tickled when I am the lee. It completely consunes me. I can think of nothing else and when it stops I am exhausted and completely relaxed. It is the greatest stress releaver.

I can totally relate to this...

The persons being tickled and doing the tickling are generally refered to as the lee and ler respectively.

See, I AM usually the "responsible" ler...watching the lee making sure they are ok.

But everyonce in a while...I just go nuts...I feed off the laughter that I am pulling from their lungs...finding a spot on the arch that drives the lee nuts...finding that spot on the hip that sends shivers down the lee...

Good responses by the way!

Thanks for reminding me of this experience that this subject just
brought to my mind 😀 ..One occasion where I was at a friends place
hanging out relaxing and I spontaneously started probing his ribs while watching his facial reactions, watching for a reaction .HE
giggled and squirmed a little and I "Lost" IT when I was doing my
best to concentrate on getting him really good when he tickled me
right back causing me to crumble laughing hysterically on the floor..
Needless to say, he took full potential and made me PAY for Instigating tickles muahahaahahahahhahha...

yeah, sometimes, when I am in the "zone" tickling non-stop, giving no breaks... until the lee says something funny that throws me for a loop😛

did you happen to bump into George while you were there? when I met him... oh boy! I just wanted to hug him and squeeze him and tickle him ‘til... oops...

really tho, I don’t think “getting lost” is a bad thing.
