There was a girl I knew in college who had a boyfriend who was rather proud of his name: Ransom.

One of my friends is named Siobhan (pronounced "chevon") which I though was kinda neat. Apparently, it was a pain in the ass learning to spell her own name--hooked on phonics failed her in this instance.

My sister's name is Siobhan too. And I've got a cousin named Oisin, pronounced (Aw-shin), but it really don't get much cooler than Mairead.

I know loads of Maireads and Oisins. All very common Irish names, along with Siobhan!

I dont know if middle names count in this thread, but my best friend's middle name is Eaton. I think that's a rather cool and unusual name that not many people have nowadays, as either a first or middle name.
