And I'm curious to whatever-his-name is above... What other kinds of faith are there? You don't seem to be into "blind" faith much. Being as ignorant as I am, we were always taught the if you can prove it or see it, it doesn't take any faith to believe it. Faith is the belief in unseen things.... dumbass.

It is going to be so for ever.

Therefore, it is pointless. People hurt each others feelings in topics like these.

NOBODY can prove he or she is right. No religion nor scientific based theory has the hard facts to back up their claims of truth.

If you believe in God, Allah, Vishnu, heck even those Spaghetti gods, then do so in happiness. It is great to see how people find respect, support and faith because of their believes.

If youre an Atheist (like me) then respect religion and accept that we just dont know for sure what right.

We'll knoe for sure the day we die.

Either you know your'e right by then, or you know nothing anymore.🙂

What a depressing thought is that... and we have to live with that in mind. Either it will be nothing and we cease to exist, or we live in ethereal realm forever... both things in a way horrible.

The problem is, too many religious people don't believe in live and let live. It's their "Christian duty" to convert the "unfaithful" at all costs. That's the source of most of the problems. And now we have this relatively new crop of "end-timers" who see it as their duty to hasten the end of the world so they can be Raptured up to heaven and nestle in the arms of Jesus.

This is a clear and present danger that must be opposed if humanity is to survive. I don't know if that describes anybody in this forum but these end-timers concern me as much as any other danger to our lives. The thought of Sarah Palin having the nuclear codes is the stuff of nightmares.

People have been proclaiming the end of the world for over 70 years. Christians know, and can show in the Bible, that is says no one- not even Jesus- knows when that is. Some extremists run out and live in caves. I don't think that represents the 1/3 of the world population that is Christian.

What you described is more Muslim, not Christian.

Wrong. It's both. And even the nutjob Muslims don't want to end the world, only nutjob Christians want to do that. And all it takes is for ONE of them to become President to have the power to make that happen. Are you sure Palin is your type of Christian, and not an end-timer?

And for clarification, Muslims are fine. Extremism, in any faith, is not. However, there is documentation of Iranian leaders wanting to hasten an Armageddon for the purposes of passing into paradise. Christians, not so much.

And yes... I am that arrogant. By the way, refer me back to the point where I endorsed Palin. I don't agree that she's a total crackpot for having Biblical beliefs. I never commented on whether she can lead.

Unsurprising. How's closing that division between Catholics and Protestants working out? Or for that matter, between Protestants and Protestants? I heard all through the Republican Primaries how Mormons weren't "real" Christians, how's resolving that schism working out for you?
