Fame vs Wealth

Wealth. It would be nice to have the money to go places with anonimity and and not have a camera in your face everytime you are in public.

Fame is great, but it doesn't pay the bills.

Hmmmm.....I'm conflicted.

With wealth I could buy lots of instruments......

With fame I could be famous for playing my instruments.....

I'm gonna go with fame because I've always wanted to be a singer/ actress.
 
I'm going to steal my answer from Calvin and Hobbes:

Calvin: "I'd choose money. If you have enough money, you can buy fame and power. That way you'd have it all and be really happy. Happiness is being famous for your financial ability to indulge in every kind of excess."
Hobbes: "I suppose that's *one* way to define it."
Calvin : "The part I think I'd like best is crushing people who get in my way."
 
Wealth, every day all day. Being sound financially means being able to decide how I spend my days, which is my goal ultimately; meanwhile the older I get the less I want to be bothered, and fame = irritation :serenity:
 
Screw fame! Give me wealth anytime! I can buy whatever I want with money...including fame.
 
Money fo sho. I don't need 300 million people knowing my name...but 300 million dollars??? Yeah..I could do a few good things with that...
 
If those are my only choices, I'd take wealth. Then, I could turn around and help out family, friends and strangers who are in need. I suppose I could use my fame to help raise money. But, being able to simply hand it to someone without them having to wait for it would be nice.
 
I guess I should defend my choice of fame over wealth; when I say fame, I mean fame for some great achievement, like being the first man on Mars or something equally as grandiose. It's a shame that fame is so often equated these days with TV & film actors, musicians et al.

I would much prefer to leave my mark on human history in some massive way than have more money than I need.

I can do my thing in privacy with lots of money at my disposal. I don't need the world in my business anyway.
 
Fame? Not for me. When you're famous you've got tons of people out there who want to mimic the way you dress, act and sneeze (I still remember all of the Madonna wannabes back in the 1980's... scary!). Besides, if they get too carried away you'll have to issue a restraining order on their ass, just like Richard Simmons did to me when I went too far:

Give me wealth any day. Too many times I've had to postpone doing something nice for someone simply because I couldn't afford paying for it. But I wouldn't start driving a Lamborghini, either. I'd still be humble little ol' me (unless you can be humble AND drive one of those). Is THAT even possible?
 
I'd rather be content with whatever I get.

But, in terms of the ultimatum:

Wealth.

Fame is fleeting and useless.
