Okay, as long as we have a favorite 80s movies thread, I thought I would start one with the favorite 90s movies. Here is my list.

The Prince of Tides. -Maybe my all time favorite movie, ever.
Forrest Gump.
The Mirror Has Two Faces.
Pulp Fiction.
Pretty Woman.

Again, just a few, but those are my top 90s movies.

Roberto Benigni's Life Is Beautiful, the funniest and most heartbreaking film I've seen. Ever.

Oh, yeah...thanks for reminding me of Much Ado About Nothing! Splendid film...though I thought Emma blew Kenneth off the screen. We did the play a few years later at our civic theater and used the movie soundtrack for our pre-show and curtain call music. I played Don John the Bastard and took a lot of ribbing about Keanu Reeves, although I thought he did a fine job in the movie. (A lot of people will never forgive him for Bill and Ted or whatever that teenie flick was called.) Michael Keaton's Dogberry annoyed me the first time I saw "Much Ado", but on repeat viewing he grew on me. (That reminds me...I haven't bought the DVD yet. Must attend to that.)

I'm not as into the movies of the 90's as I am of the 80's. Perhaps not enough time has passed for me to appreciate them as much. 😛 In any case, there are two movies I'll add here. One is Waking Ned Devine. It's a funny film about an Irishman who wins the lottery, with an unexpected twist. Watch it and you'll see what I mean. 😀 The other is The Matrix. This sci-fi flick not only utilized groundbreaking technology and a style that was endlessly copied, but it also planted itself firmly into our pop culture, and stirred up controversy after the Columbine shootings took place. Not surprisingly, it also spawned two sequels that didn't live up to the original. :blaugh:

Waking Ned Devine was a hoot. I loved that film. A similar offbeat movie was The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill but Came Down a Mountain starring Hugh Grant. Also very funny.

Princess Mononoke. Best animated film ever.

Silence of the lambs. was that 80s or 90s? I like that film. I had nightmares about that film just before the first time tkrdb2000 came to visit me here. I imagined that he was a cannibal coming to eat me lol.

That one came out in 1991. That moment when he sat up in the ambulance nearly laid me out. (Yeah, I know I should have seen it coming, but when a movie engrosses me I never try to get one jump ahead of the plot. I sit there like a good little boy and let the storytellers take me where they want to.)

Goodfellas
A league of their own
Ed Wood
Mighty Aphrodite
As Good As It Gets
Shawshank Redemption

Gladiator
Good Will Hunting
And How could ANYBODY forget about Austin Powers , Dumb and Dumber, and Happy Gilmore?? I didn't see too many comedies, if any, so maybe those don't belong, but either way, they're still good and still from the 90's
