I was in Memphis recently and had some of the best barbecue I`ve ever tasted. The first place I went to was called Rendezvous and it is located downtown. I`ve seen this place featured on the Food Channel and the Travel Channel. When I tickle I like feet but when I eat BBQ I go for ribs and Rendezvous won`t leave you disappointed. Great atmosphere also. The other restaurant I visited was Corky`s and it is located in Germantown which is a suburb. Again I went for the ribs only this time they were rubbed with Corky`s own spices and served without bbq sauce. Corky`s has been voted the #1 bbq restaurant in Memphis and after eating there I understood why. Needless to say after returning home I had to spend extra time doing cardio to work all of that off. I would like to hear some of you folks give your opinions on your favorite barbecue restaurants.

My favorite has always been Melears BBQ in Fayetteville, Georgia..

Other BBQ joints in metro Atlanta I recommend include Sprayberry's in Newnan, GA....Wallace BBQ in Austell, GA....the BBQ House (aka "Fred's BBQ") on Thornton Road in Lithia Springs, and three BBQ joints in my hometown of Douglasville: Choo-Choo's, Hudson's, and Williamson Bros.

I also highly recommend Chimneyville BBQ in Jackson, Mississippi and The Georgia Pig in Brunswick, Georgia (Georgia coast).

One great thing about living in the south.....there are so many great BBQ restaurants everywhere. 🙂

Up north here we don't have as much great bbq opportunities but just west of Grand Rapids, MI... there is Sam's Joint... Mmmm

Agreed! You can always find good BBQ in the south!

Believe it or not, the best ribs I've had in awhile were from Outback Steakhouse. MMMMMMMMmmmm!

Good Stuff!

In the south...Parker's BBQ (Wilson, NC).

Up north, in Cincinnati, we have Montgomery Inn. With saratoga chips....mmmmm.

Hmmmm..... just one? How about 3?

My favorites are...

Brookes BBQ in Oneonta, NY A family run operation that's been around for years. They have fantastic chicken and ribs, along with a ton of other great stuff too. Don't forget to save room for desert!

Black Eyed Sally's in Hartford, CT It's a restaurant/club set-up with live music (jazz/blues) Thursday - Sunday evenings. The decor is as great as the food and music. They have excellent BBQ chicken and ribs, along with a variety of other delicious cajun food.

Big Bubba's BBQ in Mohegan Sun Casino Mall in Uncasville, CT Great BBQ chicken ribs and more. They even do BBQ nachos on occassion, which are fantastic.

And I agree that Outback has some great ribs. I just had them last week. Yummy! Great thread, Bill!

I will be in Memphis this weekend, and hopefully will dine at the Rendezvous. It is located on world famous Beale Street, which is downtown. If any of you are traveling through the south, I highly reccommend you stop in Memphis. Beale Street has some of the best Blues music around, and food to match it. For you Elvis fans you could take a tour of Graceland, which is located about 15 minutes from downtown. Golly, I`m starting to sound like Samantha Brown. 😎

Hmm..... I think I`ll stay with the pecan pie for dessert. :wow:

If you're in the Tampa area, the best, IMHO, has to be Big Tim's BBQ. Has to be tasted to be appreciated :happyfloa
