Hi everybody,

What are your favorite works by H.P Lovecraft?

My favorite is "At the mountains of madness"

Great story soon to be a motion picture by Guillermo del Toro

Really? Now that is fucking sweet! You can bet i'm going to be watching that as soon as it comes out, assuming it's in maintreme movie theaters.

As far as my favourite Lovecraft story, thats a hard one. Hmmm...lets see...

I love the "Quest of Iranon", and of course "The Shadow over Innsmouth", and "The Dunwhich Horror" is classis, but i suppose the two i love the most are "Call of Cthulhu" and "The whisperer in the Darkness". For some reason, those in particuler reach out to me, but all of Lovecrafts work is truly great. Theirs no question as to why he's one of the founding fathers of the horror genre.

Call of Cthulhu

I only heard about the story and tried to play the crappy videogame through, but it has a great premise.

Crappy video game? If you mean the game for X-box, i disagree strongly. I haven't finished the game, i do admit, and i'd be lying if i said i thought it was easy, but i would hardly call it crappy.

Have to respect the classic. Call of Cthulhu - the most 'famous' one that started it for me. Love the mythos, love the tabletop RPG. =)

Only Lovecraft I ever read was called "Pidgeons From Hell." Pretty damn scary, as I recall.

My favorites are:

The Tomb

The Dunwich Horror

At the Mountains of Madness

The Call of Cthulhu

Hmm

I am surprised nobody mentioned "The COlour out of Space"

Fav movies? Dagon? Cast a deadly Spell? (cheesy but fun with Frad Ward)
In the Mouth of Madness with Sam Neill? Evil Dead?

Lovecraft keeps popping up all over. Books and Mythos so realistic that scientists have actually looked for his stuff!
🙂

The Colour Out Of Space....what a perfect blend of science fiction and horror that one was.

I'm also fond of The Dunwich Horror, just avoid the horrid film adaptation.

Lovecraft was a genuis, 'tis a shame he is generally thought of as a hack and died in poverty.

PS: anyone notice my profile location? Little subtle Lovecraft referance I've had going for quite some time hehe
