Don't worry, lk70. I've been praising Dwight's new CD in this and other threads since I bought it and they haven't banned me from the forum. Yet.
I think posterity will rank Dwight Yoakam right up there with Hank Williams and Willie Nelson and half a dozen others as the greatest talents of all time. And country music is as rich a vein of truth, passion and artistry as any American art form.

You know Johny Cash said Dwight Yoakam was the best singer ever in country music.
Country music is about average people and average situations. Which let's face it, most people are. It seems MTV does shows almost entirely on rich and/or famous peope. VH1 does as well. I'm not rich and I don't like to dream of it, eventually I have to wake up. That's why I like it.
I'm a fan of George Jones myself, "Choices" and "The Cold Hard Truth" are such powerful songs.

No fears, lk!! I'm a closet country fan (though I'm more a fan of the early to mid 90's era, when Garth and Reba were the hottest things on the air...some of the new stuff is pretty good, though)!
