ok so heres my two cents:

speaking from the most recent experiences I've had with my owner, I'd say a bit a fear in a lee makes the experience. I know that even though I trust him fully to keep my safety (and partly my sanity!) in mind, I cant help but have a slight bit of fear from being tied up and blindfolded....

Knowing you are at someone elses mercy (even with full trust) is slightly fearful to me- but again I think it makes the experience. He knows full well if Im a little scared, then hes done his job 🙂

May I sugest that the answer "power" would be more accurate? Fear in a 'lee is an indication of the power the 'ler has in that situation. For me, it's a tool to be used in a session just like any other. It's not one that I use too often as I've found to do it properly takes a lot of effort and putting on an attitude that isn't necessarily my natural persona but the effect can be.... intense for both of us.

IMO the fear, its all in your own head.

With that said I do like the fear aspect from both sides of the ler and lees perspective. I think it can make or break a scene depending on how its done.

I still get scared but its a natural thing and my mind likes to fuck with me. its not like "OMFG your going to fuck me in the ass or something like that." (okay that didn't come out right ahahaha ) What I mean is that its not the kind of fear where I am fearing for my life.

Well put- I think that is the key- the lee fears in some way, but not for their safety or their life.... The most important thing in my opinion and in my situation...
